PARADISE, a 1976 Sandpiper 565 sloop, is FOR SALE.

Paradise is... well, paradise. She has it all - big boat feel; small boat ease.
So, what makes a Sandpiper so special?
Right off the bat, I can tell you that the boat is the ideal size for both the Ontario and Quebec sailing areas. At 18 feet and easily transportable, Pipers are as comfortable on a cottage lake (Paradise seen below realxing at her home dockage on the Gatineau River)...
...as they are on big water (Paradise seen below, basking in the big waters of the Gulf of Mexico).

Sandpipers are sailboats that are user friendly and quality built; easily sailed by expert or novice. Accommodating family and friends for a simple daysail or more rigorous over nighting; the Piper proves a perfect option in sailboats.
As you can see from the 'stock' photos below, the boats are easily towed behind the family car, and they are a cinch to launch and retrieve.

Because trailerability is so easy, get ready to make a lot of sailing friends... on land...

... and on the water.

As these additional pictures of other Sandpiper sailboats show, the boats can't help but relish in the art of gunkholing (exploring tributaries). A shallow draft (a function of a retractible keel) allows you to "...boldly go where no man has gone before"... Captain Kirk will have nothing on you, that's a "fur sure".

Beaching for a picnic couldn't be simpler.

Why buy PARADISE, this Sandpiper?
Well, there are several reasons.
First off, Paradise comes fully found (that's sailor speak for well-equipped). She rides about on land, snug in the security of a recently refurbished trailer (shown below)...

Over time, Paradise has been well maintained and well looked after by caring owners - so she's in great shape. Winters spent under a tarp have been warm, cozy, and dry (well, maybe not THAT warm and cozy... but dry certainly).

Paradise sports a good set of sails, too. But when the wind takes a holiday, she can be found purring along, in response to an 'older' 5 hp Mercury 2-stroke outboard.
There have been several upgrades over the years, which were done professionally, and serve to improve the sailing experience.
On the inside, there is a new portable head compartment...

Her interior saloon (shown in these pictures) is roomy for a boat of this ilk. You can sit up comfortably (without hitting your head), and can actually lounge on the adequately sized setees.

Just last season, the windows on each side were removed, recaulked to prevent leaks, and then reinstalled using thru-bolt stainless fittings.
Paradise also has new halyards and sheets (ropes). Her exterior teak rubrail has been replaced; and it, along with the rest of the teak, sports several coats of shiny certol marine varnish - so have your sun glasses handy.
What's best about owning a Sandpiper?
Are you ready for this? It's not the boat...
... it's the people!
As a Sandpiper owner, you join a 'club' of enthusiasts... not racers... enthusiasts! These people are friendly. They're kind. They're interested in sailing, and bettering the experience of sailing for all who come-a-knockin'. You can meet some of them just by clicking on the menu item, entitled "Discussion forum", located on the upper left side of this page. After connection, click the first forum icon.
Once transported, you'll discover an active group of people who love to have fun, fun, fun...
...and that's what Piper ownership is all about...

The cost of fun is only $5,500 CAD, which includes boat, 3 sails, trailer, and motor.
