Today, we added lengthier explanations to the website and downloaded the ROBOTC program for our manual robot controls. We also worked on the presentation for tomorrow. Some minor changes were made once again to the robot's build design in order to ensure its success on inclines.
Not only did we make some more final adjustments to the rescue robot, but we also wrote and completed our proposal today. The proposal was what we spent the majority of our time on today. The proposal included the introduction of our company, objectives, goals, and specifications of our project. The proposal also encompassed metrics that we planned to include in the design process of our robot. Design alternatives and the proposed final design were also discussed within the proposal. Although we didn't have time to include photos of our robot or sketches of our initial design, we still provided a verbal explanation of our design schemes for the robot. In conclusion, today was filled with work, but the whole group got a great deal accomplished. We updated the website, re-finalized our build design, finalized the proposal, and established the standards for our robot's pamphlet.
Today we finished building the robot and got our tread idea approved. We started finalizing the build design for our robot and made the design more sturdy. We wanted to make sure that the robot could travel up an incline and maneuver around harsh terrain in one piece. At first the design we crafted would partially climb the incline, and then fall over. After we added weight to the front, the robot climbed the incline much easier. We also thought of what should be included in the proposal due tomorrow.
We began making rough copies of our Gantt and PERT charts. We communicated through e-mail in order to efficiently create sample PERT and Gantt charts for the project. We also continued our discussion of what the design for the robot should look like. We began deciding what should be included within the PERT chart. We separated all of our tasks into different components needed to complete the project. We also began our research.
Today, S&R Enterprises slowed down production as a result of an AP U.S. History Exam. However, we discussed different components that should be included within the tasks of our final project.
