How to make a blend

so you wanna know how to make a blend huh? Well your in the right place! Making a blend isn't hard at all once you get used to it! All you do is...read the tutorial and find out! xD

Needed Materials

Step #1 The selection tool

Here, on this tutorial, the selection tool (, , , ETC.) is your best friend! So yeah, other than your real friends, this is all that matters right now. -.^ Those three examples are the selection tools for Photoshop CS3, Paintshop Pro XI, and Photoplus 6.0. Gimp, and many other free products or other expensive ones probably have it too. So click on the selection tool and let's get started!

Step #2 Feather

Almost every selection tool has a feather control. Examples: , , Now change your feather to 40. It should look like this now: , ,

Step #3 New Doc. and Paste Images

Now pick 2-5 images. I would not suggest going over 4 images, but whatever flows ya boat. Ill you use 3: Azula Image 1 Azula Image 2 Azula Image 3. Images © Iroh.org. Now open up your images. After that make a new document by going to File --> New. The shortcut key is usually CTRL + N I picked the dimensions 550x300px. Fill it with any color you want. It doesn't really matter. I picked #872900. Now take your first image (you may want to resize it smaller first) and take the selction tool and drag the selection on the part of the image you want on the blend Like so. It should look like this after you select. Go to Edit --> Copy. The shortcut is CTRL + C for most software. Now go to your new document that you made and filled with a color and make 3 new layers by going to layers --> New raster layer or just layer if your using Photoshop. Your layers pallete should look like This. On Photoshop go to Edit --> Paste or press CTRL +V. On Paintshop Pro go to Edit --> Paste as a new selection. Or press CTRL + E on your keyboard. Other softwares have something similar to that. Your first image should be pasted somewhere on the document. Locate it somewhere on the document you would like and go to your 2nd image. Repeat image #2 & 3 with the step for image #1. You should have this. After you see the images have blended erase any edges that seem inappropriate. Now you should have this. Awesome! Your almost done!

Step #4 Overlay and Brushes

Now your layers should all be on normal and 100%. Good. ^.^ But we may have to change that. I will duplicate all the layers with the images #1 #2 and #3 and on their duplicates change them to overlay. I hope you understand what I mean. =/ Ok I will also use brushes on the image to help with the blending. I got these at Hybrid Genesis It's a great place for brushes, textures, and patterns! =D *adds on brushes* So much fun! xP You can also add a texture if you like or even a pattern. This is not necessary though. Neither are the brushes but they make it a whole lot better. xDD Now add text if you like! Then maybe credits so no one can steal it. And ta-da! You are done!!!

Step #5 Your result

Yours may not look like mine, because maybe Im more experience, or maybe you are. Who knows? But if you don't think yours is good enough, don't get disappointed. Trust me, I started out very badly. xP Well yeah.
