I am a single mom of a 16 year old mentally ill daughter. In March of 2003, she tried to kill herself by cutting her wrists. After 2 hospitalizations and hundreds of doctor and counselor visits later, I have hope that we are on the way to recovery.
Due to the ensuing medical bills ( I could not afford health insurance for her, so she was uninsured at the time of her suicide attempt and the bills added up to $34,000), and missed time from work, I became severely financially distressed. My credit is not at all good because of all the bills, and in an attempt to lessen my monthly expenses and try to make arrangements on the medical bills, I looked for the leased expensive way that I could live.
I found that if I bought a fifth wheel trailer and put it in a park I could bring my total living expenses down to about $800.00 a month, which would give me some money left over to pay on the bills.
Since my credit is shot due to all the bills, a friend agreed to finance the trailer in his name so that I could get a decent interest rate (7.75%), and I would make all of the payments and insurance payments on it. I thought he was doing this to be nice and help me out during a difficult time, but I found out different.
After the deal was done, he started pressuring me to date him. When I finally got it through to him that I would not date him, he told me that I need to find someone else to finance the trailer. So now I am stuck! I need someone to either assume the note from the bank and let me continue to make the payments or pay the note off and then let me continue to make the payments to the payee, until the note is paid off. I have faithfully made all of my payments and can show proof of it. I am just in a bad way and really need some help! I pray every day that I will find a good soul who will help me and not want my body or soul in return! The original amount of the note with the bank is $23,400.00, the interest rate is 7.75% and I make monthly payments of $250.10. I really would like to keep the terms as similar as possible. I have a steady job and I really want to keep this trailer as my home. I can pay for it and as my situation improves I may even be able to pay it off early.
