Journals/Articles Written by Our Very Own Kababayan

This page contains links to articles and journals written by our own kababayan which have been published in national newspapers and magazines, and SKMM is proud to share these items to all Calumpitenyos.

SKMM is proud to feature two articles written by Felicidad "Nenet" Galang and Gladys Cruz-Sta. Rita.

Nenet is originally from Caniogan and currently teaches at UST in the Faculty of Arts & Letters. Her article " Musical genius in the high seas" appeared in the Philippine Star, based on her interview with musical genius and international singer & composer, David Pomeranz, who staged a concert at the Costa ship when Nenet & her family took a cruise to the Mediterranean early last year. She also wrote an article for her father, Amang Ross Galang, on his 80th birthday 2 years ago, entitled The Music of My Father, and SKMM is proud to publish this article again as a special 82nd birthday tribute to Amang Ross, a well respected Calumpitenyo whom every kababaryo (young and old) in Caniogan is really proud of. Amang Ross has helped many Calumpitenyos (in particular his barrio mates) find jobs in the Japanese company Aji-no Moto Corporation during his time as the company's disbursing officer until his retirement.

Gladys, on the other hand originally hails from Corazon and now works as a consultant to the USAID projects in the Philippines through the Health Policy Development Program of the UPecon Foundation. Gladys was Bulacan's Provincial Administrator for 17 years before her retirement from government service this year. She is the author of the book "Running a Bureaucracy: A Guidebook for Local Government Unit Administrators, Other Public Managers, and Elected Officials", which was featured previously by SKMM. Gladys is featuring the Governor of Pangasinan, Hon. Amado Espino in her new article titled "Spine's the Man: Ushering a New and Majestic Pangasinan", which was posted in her column at www.thelobbyist.biz, which is an online magazine of The Publicus, the Philippines' first and only registered lobbying and political management firm. To SKMM readers and fellow Calumpitenyos, share your thoughts, news, journals or articles with the rest of the world and help SKMM reach all our kababayan especially those living & working overseas either through writing, art, photographs, sketches, videos or music. Everyone is welcome. Register as a member and click here to start your blog.

Mabuhay ang Kalumpit! Mabuhay ang Bulakan! Mabuhay ang PILIPINAS!
