A brief overview of the services we offer to African safari and adventure operators
The safety of your clients and staff is paramount to your organisation's continued success. No longer can operators afford to simply obtain a signature on an indemnity form and expect that document to protect them in the event of (particularly client) injury and possibly a long expensive lawsuit - and eventual enormous damage awards which may ultimately cause a business to become insolvent. The culture of litigation - suing for monetary damages - has reached unprecedented levels and the risk of this should be considered as a priority. However - litigation aside - you owe a moral, ethical and legal duty of care to ensure the health and safety of your clients, staff, contractors and visitors. And, let's face it, nobody welcomes injury, illness or worse!
Whether you operate photo safaris, walking safaris, hunting safaris, big game fishing safaris, adventure/extreme activities, or simply a beachside hotel you owe it to your clients and staff to keep them all healthy and safe from risk. You might think that because it hasn't happened before that it won't - the law of averages dictates otherwise.
The safety of your clients and staff - including yourself - should be the #1 priority. The benefits of a structured health and safety management regime (advertise the fact on your publicity materials, website etc!) are many and varied and include:

This is where ssi comes in. We are in a unique position to survey and control risk at your safari camp, lodge or location because we have been in the safari industry as operators, have many years of experience in Africa (over 50) and have a wealth of practical experience in conrolling safety risks in the UK to that country's exacting standards. HEALTH AND SAFETY IS MORE THAN GOOD SENSE - IT'S GOOD BUSINESS! We can do risk and fire assessments, write your site's safety policy and advise on/action other safety - related issues.
Costs will vary on the size of the task, but travel costs may be shared between several operators and, if the assessor is accommodated at each location, these will be kept to a minimum.
We are also able to supply durable customised safety signage to UK standards.
