Serenity, while admittedly interesting, has unfortunately gone on a hiatus, due to a new girl in town. Meet Annette of Mortamore, my newest work. Here's a roughhhh draft of the prologue.I have a lot more of Annette written, though its all out of order and from different parts of the story. Keep in mind that its rough, and please comment on your thoughts of the new piece. Also, let me know- Serenity or Annette, which do you prefer?
She stared unflinchingly ahead of her- to a point exactly eye level. She didn’t move, she didn’t blink- in fact, if you were to watch her, it appeared that not even the wind was able to move her glistening black hair, the sun able to make the slightest shine on her perfectly bronzed skin. Annette was a statue. She continued to stare at it, she continued in her statuesque position; she was so concentrated on it, she didn’t notice the golden rays of the sun hitting the marble around her, the fountain’s splashing as it flowed in a perfect arch above her, or the wind teasing her cheeks.
Finally, it spoke.
“Princess,” it whimpered feebly.
“No,” Annette smiled coldly, “Queen.” The thing couldn’t respond, not even with a grunt- instead, its eyes grew and true shock, mixed with healthy amounts of terror, shot through its body. Annette laughed coldly, victory shining in her beautiful green eyes.
“You know, I expected this to be harder. I expected the game to last longer, James. Unfortunately enough for you,
This
Is
Fate.”
And we all know you can’t change that.
