Welcome to Rockin' K Ranch!

Rockin' K Ranch is our dream ranch located in the heart of western KY nestled on 50+ acres. My husband, Tom and I have raised appaloosas together for 12 years now that are easy on the eye, handleable, and smart. Some of our mares are foundation bred and some are modern-day bred with a lot of QH influence. In our spare time, we like to ride our horses on over 1,000 acres of coalmine land adjoining the back of our property.

In 2009, our junior stallion, Joker Six Spot, was broke to ride this Spring with absolutely no problems, bred 2 of our mares for us this year. One mare is a gray dapple QH mare named JAE Lu Em and the other is our appy mare named QAR Top Chic. The results should be phenomenal for color and conformation. Joker already stands 15hh as a 2-1/2 yr old and will continue to grow for a couple more years. More pics can be seen on the stallion prospect page. His disposition, color and height will only add to the beauty of the foals. His foals should be on the ground next year in May and we can't wait to see the results. In 2010, we will be standing Joker to the public.

In the past few years, we have bred a few of our foundation mares to our red dun QH stallion and still came out with awesome color and conformation as you can see throughout this website. His dun factor is strong and a lot of his foals are red duns with blankets and spots.....but on our blue roan leopard mare had a beautiful tri-colored filly this year. Last year, our bay based (gray) appy mare had a dilute bay (buckskin) near leopard colt that was just stunning!

Unfortunately, we are selling our 14.2hh red dun QH stallion named Heza Dun Legend. He has produced some awesome foals for us but we are going back to raising only foundation appaloosas. Legend is sweet and gentle with the mares and if anyone is interested in purchasing him, please contact us through this site.

Legend is heterozygous for Agouti (bay/black)   He is also negative for HERDA
