My name is Brandon Misener. I am currently an 11th grader at Nature Coast Technical High School. I am very competitive and love sports, especially hockey. I view academics highly, and I beleive if you put forth enough effort you can acheive anything. I have been part of the Engineering program for Nature Coast for three years and learned alot about the engineering field. I feel that this engineering program is of top quality.
the word "engineering" as defined by Merriman Webster's dictionary is; The application of scientific and mathematical principles to practical ends such as the design, manufacture, and operation of efficient and economical structures, machines, processes, and systems. But what does that really mean? Simply put, engineering is the process of using science, math, and critical thinking skills to design and manufacture a product(s), or to solve a problem. In our engineering class, we learn the basics of applying the concepts of critical thinking to everyday problems. We learn to use systems thinking and work as teams to design tools and apparatus' to complete tasks. working as teams, we learn to utilize each members strengths to make for a smooth and easy design process. We complete modular tasks daily, that help us to understand and master the programs needed to be a successful engineer, as well as applying this knowledge by actually using professional equipment such as a CNC Milling machine. Overall, we as students are learning the steps to becoming successful engineers in the future.
