“Today my mom gets out of jail.” Mine said. “Can I please request the rest of the day off?”

 

Kai sighed. “I guess so, but she is one of the people we are really against.”

 

“Please.” Mine said

 

“Oh what the hell.” Kai said. “Could you at least record that little witch getting out of jail?”

 

“Sure.” Mine said shrugging.

“Today is the day the mistress of darkness breaks out of her cocoon.” Mr. Shine said smiling. He had his feet kicked up on Asuka’s desk.

 

Vesch was giving him a back massage. “This will boost our rating and we can finally rid the bastards named Channel 18.”

 

“And The Trinity will be complete.” Mr. Shine said laughing.

 

“The Trinity?” Vinyl asked. “What is that?”

 

“The Trinity of Ameyawa news people, it sounds lame, but from what I heard it kicks ass.” Vesch said. “The Trinity is handpicked by Asuka, so it’s really hard to get in.”

 

“Who is all in it?” He asked cocking his head to the side.

“There’s one person from each of the four newschannels in Ameyawa.” Mr. Shine said.

 

“Even NewsChannel 18?” Vinyl asked disgusted.

 

“Yeah.” Vesch said. “I know it’s humanly impossible, but they have really good talent there. Hey, if you are interested we can convince Asuka to get you a job here.”

 

“Really now?” Vinyl asked snickering.

 

“Shouldn’t you go pick her up?” Mr Shine asked.

 

“Yeah.” Vinyl began. “I guess I should. Where is the jail at again?” He asked cocking his head to the side.

 

“It’s like, a ten minute walk from here.” Vesch yelled. “Go north until you see a shit load of cars, and whisk Asuka away.” She slowly watched Vinyl leave. “That poor boy.” Vesch said

 

“He is going to be dismissed from his job.” Mr. Shine said laughing. “He didn’t even get to touch those Channel 18 bastards. They even called him one of the best hitmen ever in Ameyawa.”

 

“What a waste of money.” Vesch said. “I hope he asks Asuka for that job. I need a good laugh.” She said slamming her elbow into Mr. Shine’s shoulder.

“Bye guys.” Mine said. She was leaving Channel 18 for the rest of the day to see her mom. Yuri slowly followed her; he was driving her to the jail.

 

“So are we taking your mom to Channel 7 after we pick her up?” Yuri asked. “Were we not the ones that sent her to jail in the first place?”

 

“Channel 7 is very busy today, also they will be questioned if they did pick her up.” Mine said buckling in.

 

“Well we are from Channel 18; don’t you think they will notice?”

 

“They will notice you automatically, Yuri. So it will be better if you stay in the jeep…for safety reasons.”

 

“Okay. Well, it will take about thirty minutes to get to the jail. You can take a small nap if you want to.

 

Mine sighed and closed her eyes. Before she knew it she was asleep.

“What made me decide to work in the news world” Mine asked herself. She was an outstanding student in high school and made amazing grades. She was in the top of her class “Why couldn’t I be a doctor or something that pays better.”

 

“We are in this together Mine.” Akira said smiling at her. “What made me decide? Was it Akira, or was it my mom”

 

“I love NewsChannel 18 because I get to be myself, unlike the people my mom works with; their lives seem to be scripted. The people there are interesting enough. My mom is probably going to look at Yuri and demand me to work with her.”

 

‘Who gives a damn what that bitch thinks’ She could hear Yuki say in her mind.

 

‘I am Mine Takaya, I AM MINE TAKAYA, I AM MYSELF’

“Congratulations Mine.” Yuri said clapping his hands. “Your nightmare/dream spasm almost got us killed.” He said laughing.

 

“Sorry Yuri.” She said stretching.

 

“Well it doesn’t matter anymore,” Yuri said. “We are already here.”

 

Mine saw in front of her and saw tons of news station cars from all regions of Ameyawa and Japan in general.

 

“Holy shit.” Mine said.

 

“I know; it’s very eventful” Yuri said unlocking his door and getting out. He went around letting Mine out and before he knew it she was gone. “Damnit to hell!” Yuri yelled kicking Yuki’s jeep.

Mine found her way out of Yuri’s sight and was now in the middle of distinguished news people. Thank god no one noticed who she was. To everyone’s eyes she was a nosy reporter just like the rest of them.

 

She waited about ten minutes waiting for her mom to get out of the building, constantly avoiding Yuri’s eyes. Suddenly the doors busted open and her mom came into view. She could feel everyone rushing to get some questions.

 

“Who was the drug dealer you brought the drugs from?”

 

“Is it true that your co workers set you up?”

 

“Did you have an affair with the drug dealer?”

 

“Where was it that you bought the drugs from?”

 

“IS IT TRUE THAT YOU DISOWNED YOUR DAUGHTER?” A voice yelled. Everyone turned around to see a man sitting on a green jeep. “YURI ISHIDA!” Asuka growled. They glared at eachother for 2 minutes, complete silence.

 

“Hello ma’am.” Yuri said grinning.

 

“YOU HAVE SOME FUCKING NERVE SHOWING UP WHEN I GET RELEASED.” She started grinning. She looked back at the crowd “Hey everyone, do you want the truth? Channel 18 did this to me, THEY FILED CALLED THE POLICE AND FALSELY ACCUSED ME.”

 

“Um…Asuka Takaya,” Mine began raising her hand. “From the reports none of the other newschannels were involved in this.” As she said that her mom was looking straight at her.

 

“You bitch.” She could see her mom mouth.

 

Yuri started clapping his hands.

 

‘Great job Mine Takaya.”

“Wow, that Mine girl is freaking insane.” Gale said while he was watching the television with Itsumi. Yuki was sitting in between him and Itsumi and she was getting to the point of punching him in the trachea.

 

“Wow, Yuri is very daring.” Itsumi said

 

Yuki left the couch and got closer to the screen. Itsumi and Gale huddled closer. He saw an odd looking person getting closer to Mine.

 

“Why does that man look familiar?” Yuki asked himself. He turned to his right to see Cree looking at the television with him.

 

“That’s Vinyl, and right now I think he is pulling out a knife.” Cree said pointing at Vinyl. Yuki fell back as Vinyl was getting closer and closer to Mine.

 

“MINE…” Yuki screamed running out of the room

Before she knew it she was tackled to the ground by Yuri. “Saved you in the nick of time.” Yuri said gasping for breath. Yuri saw Vinyl walking to Asuka and running off. The news people chased after them but he pulled a pistol out and fired it into the air. Seconds later the news people ran back into their cars, in panic, and left. They couldn’t see Asuka anymore.

 

“Where are you taking me Vinyl?” Asuka asked. She was being dragged by him throughout the many alleyways and streets of Ameyawa. This process kept on for about thirty minutes and Asuka had enough.

 

“Let go of me damnit!” Asuka yelled, “Why are you even here?”

 

“You hired me as a hitman to kill of Channel 18, I am under your wing until I get that job done.”

 

“JESUS CHRIST, VINYL! YOU HAVE BEEN DOING THIS JOB FOR A LONG ASS TIME!” She looked at Vinyl and he had a depressed look on his face.

 

“I can still do it though, I can still kill at least one of them. Asuka?”

 

“What is it Vinyl?” She asked sighing,

 

“Please hire me so I can become a news reporter. I had so much fun with this.”

 

Asuka stood there in total silence, she was shocked that something that stupid came out of that hitmans mouth.

 

“I…can’t hire you Vinyl.” Asuka said walking along the sidewalk now. Vinyl slowly followed and grabbed her wrist.

 

 

 

“I know it will take awhile for this to soak in but please consider it.” Vinyl said laughing to himself. He quickly looked behind to see a flash of green hair in the corner of his eye. “Damnit, that bastard from Channel 18 is following me.

 

“Ah, it seems that Asuka has a little friend.” Yuki said chuckling.

 

“I am going to ask again, Asuka,” Vinyl said. “Is there any chance that I can a newsperson?” Vinyl asked getting in front of Asuka. “Please!!”

 

“You can’t Vinyl.” She said walking in front of him.

 

“WHY THE HELL NOT?” He said growling at her.

 

“Because I have no use for you, you FAILED to be a useful hitman!” She said straight into his face.

 

“I can still kill them off?” Vinyl growled.

 

“You have done enou…” She began but before she knew it Vinyl snapped. He shoved her off the sidewalk into an oncoming car. Her body twisted and flew in the air like a ragdoll. A couple of seconds later the body smashed to the ground. Vinyl was still shocked from what he did, then he slowly grinned. He turned around to see that everyone was gathered around Asuka. She was unconcious and her head was bleeding.

 

“Serves you right bitch.” Vinyl said walking off.

 

“What the hell did you do Vinyl?” A voice shouted behind him. Vinyl turned around to see Yuki glaring at him.

 

“You’re next Yuki.” Vinyl said grinning.
