Rutaaro Parson Russell Terriers

Welcome to the Rutaaro Parson Russell Terrier website.  We are a small select show kennel based in West Yorkshire (just off junction 27 of the M62) and breed the occasional litter so sometimes have puppies or young adults available to loving permanent homes.

I first started showing terriers at working terrier and breed club shows when I was a child with many successes.   When the Kennel Club announced that the Parson could be registered my father and I decided to register some and therefore have several dogs on the foundation register of the breed.  I then started to show at Kennel Club registered events and have since had success winning at all levels and having dogs that have won CC's and RCC's. 

I only keep a very small number of dogs as they all live in the house with us and are not kennelled at any time and although show dogs are first and foremost our family pets.  I aim to breed terriers for the show ring but obviously temperament is uppermost in any of our breeding plans and I would never breed from a dog that didn't have a good temperament.  I have had a considerable number of compliments on the temperaments of our puppies and because of this people are now coming back for the second/third time.  I am also a member of Kennel Club Accredited Breeder Scheme.

My lines incorporate some of the most well known in the country including Alne, Ardencote, Fellshied, Heythrop, Howlbeck and Mindlen.  

All breeding stock is tested yearly for PLL. 

I only breed a litter when I intend to keep a puppy for myself.  All our puppies are reared in the home with other dogs and children and are used to all household noises etc before leaving for their new home complete with puppy pack and 6 weeks free insurance.  I am a responsible breeder and offer a lifetime of advice and should a problem occur will help all I can and if necessary will help re-home a dog or if possible have it back.  All puppies are sold with a contract to protect them and their new owners.
