Russian Dwarf Hamsters have now been a household pet for about 20 years now and they are becoming more and more popular.Dwarf hamsters are more sociable than the more commom syrian hamster. They can be placed in a group and still be friendly toward humans.Although the female is dominant when she is pregnant she will from time to time fight with the male or bite you because females are very territorial. Although they are friendly most of the time they will nip at you if they feel you are a danger to them so being careful is most important when going ot pick up your hamster.
~Breeding these types of hamster are for the most part easy there are always risks to take for example the mom might leave them and you might have to take care of them, the babies may become sick would you know what to do.Although the pups (baby hamsters) are cute and seeing them grow up is a joy you should think to yourself why do i want to breed them and do i have enough money to do so. The russian Dwarf Hamsters is about 10-12cm long when full grown with the male being a little larger. They can be found in the color like the ones seen above(gray and white with a black line running down their backs)There are many differnet colors though like tan with white but gray and white are more common.Their lifespan is about 1-2 years and may live longer.
