About Russ
Russ Hamilton is a dedicated artist whose love for his chosen profession is apparent in all of his paintings. Born in Newport, Kentucky, he was educated and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. He enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Korean War. He began his art studies at Midland College and Bellevue College in Nebraska. He graducated from the Art Instruction School in 1966 and since that time he has devoted his full time to a career in Fine Art. His love for the maountains led him to Wyoming where he makes his home.
Russ's paintings are brilliantly colored and beautifully composed. His work encompasses miniature paintings to lifesize murals. His paintings are represented in private collections worldwide and in galleries across the country. He also participates in art festivals and private showings. Russ is a charter member of the American First Day Cover Society with collectors all across the United States of his hand-drawn, hand painted cachets.
Russ is represented by Wyoming Trails Gallery, Wheatland, Wyoming, Deselms Fine Art Gallery, Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Wyoming Home Gallery, Cheyenne, Wyoming.
