My journey into the wonderful world of Jack Russell Terriers began in 1998, when my sister-in -law, Joanne bought her lovely Jack Russell over to our home for a visit. Previously, we were always "loved" by German Shepherds, but the adoration I had for this girl was unsurpassed. I had never met a dog with as much personality as she, and so my desire to have a comedienne' in my life quickly followed.
Joanne introduced me to the wonderful world of Pedigreed dogs and Dog Showing, and for this I am eternally greatful to her, as she helped me to re-enter my somewhat "empty" life at that particular time. I have a special connection with Jo, whom I hold in great esteem, and have placed her way up on that pedestal! Both she, and my other sister-in-law Nicol, always have time for me, are patient with me, and the love we share is strong, no matter how great the distance between us. There are times when thankyou is not enough, and this is one of those times!
We live in a beautiful part of Queensland called Buaraba on 41 acres, which is near Esk, so only a short trip for the city dwellers to come for a nice visit and very scenic drive. We live in the middle of the Lockyer and Brisbane Valley's, and are close to Dams and beautiful Lakes. Esk and Coominya surrounding districts also boast some of the best National Heritage Buildings in Queensland. There are also many places to bush walk if the inclination occurs, and our land has over 30 acres of beautiful bushland, that has rapidly become home to many native Australian animals. For these reasons, we feel that we are truly blessed. We will be building our house very soon which we are excited about. We are 40 minutes from Ipswich, 40 mins from Toowoomba, and 50 mins from Caboolture.
Since our journey began, we have met some wonderful friends and we are thankful for all the fun times that we have shared.Especially my dearest friend, Lindy Donato, for standing by me through thick and thin, for opening up your heart and your life and for including me in your "family", all those chats over a cuppa, and for all those exciting new hobbies that you have introduced me too.... Thankyou! You are a Diamond in the rough dear friend. Also, thankyou to Erica Wilkens, for guiding me in my early days, encouraging me along the way, and for all those history lessons. Thankyou! Thankyou also to Jane Keeping, for those marvellous "Grooming lessons", hopefully I will get it right one day soon! Also, a big THANKYOU to John Bourke, for handling my dogs for me, and for being a good friend.
For the person visiting my page, to own a Pedigreed Jack Russell Terrier is to begin a life where many doors will open in either the show ring, earth dog trialling or obedience/agility arenas, whatever you desire. Or if you are after a wonderful companion, that is fine too. You are welcome to come for a visit to meet us and our dogs. The welcome mat is always down, the door is always open for friends both old and new,and good old fashioned country hospitality is guaranteed!
MY MOTTO IS ..."Life Is Not Complete Without A Ruscal"
