Unsportsman-like conduct (definition below)

 

1st Offence: will result in the person using unsportsman-like conduct to be suspended for the remainder of that night. The cart they represent, and also the pit crew will be suspended for the remainder of that night. The driver will also lose all points acquired that night. The person using unsportsman-like conduct is also suspended for the next scheduled race (the cart and other pit crew may compete in the next scheduled race).

2nd Offence: will result in the person using unsportsman-like conduct to be suspended for the remainder of the season. The cart they represent, and also the pit crew will be suspended for the remainder of that night. The driver will also loss all points acquired that night. The cart and other pit crew may compete in the next scheduled race. The person using the unsportsman-like conduct may not be on the Runestone GoKart premises the remainder of the 2008 season.

GR24 Any unsportsman-like conduct: swearing, arguing, obscene gestures or alcohol consumption before, during or after the races by any driver, pit person or persons representing a kart on or off the track will be penalized. Not only will the driver or pit person be penalized but also the kart they represent will be penalized. The penalized person can not be in the pit area during suspension. 1st offense - 1 week suspension. 2nd offense – suspended for the season. see above paragraphs

Racing Rules

RR1 The Flagman will have full control of the races subject to the rules. All decisions are final. No protest will be considered. No one will be allowed to personally confront the flagman about a call during the race. Such behavior will be considered unsportsman like conduct. DRIVERS ONLY, however, will be allowed to approach the flagman to ask questions when all race events are complete for the night. Unsportsmanlike conduct; 1st offence - loose points for that night and suspended 1 week; 2nd offence - suspension for the remainder of the race season.

RR2 All karts must be lined up in the staging area for their race. If you are not in the staging before your race you will start in the rear. If there is mechanical problems between line-up and the green light, the kart will have 2 minutes to repair and retain original line-up position.

RR3 A kart stopping once on the track for mechanical reasons will have 2 minutes to repair
and will be charged with a yellow flag and placed at the back of the field.

RR4 All classes, if a kart is involved in an accident and the flagman determines the kart was not at fault they will have, 2 minutes to repair and retain his or her position. The kart must leave the track if not repairable in the 2 minute time period.

RR5 Any kart causing a restart will be sent to the rear.

RR6 When the yellow light comes on during the course of a race, karts must stop at turn 1 to be relined. Any karts needing to be restarted may do so without penalty. Karts may be started only, no repairs or tuning under yellow flag.

RR7 Any kart causing 2 restarts during a race for any reason will be disqualified from that race. Any
Rookie or Sportsman causing 3 yellows for any reason will be disqualified for that event. Any Kart
in any other class causing 2 yellows for any reason will be disqualified for causing yellow and receive
last position points.

RR8 No kart will race with a fuel leak.

RR9 On a restart, karts will be positioned in the position they held upon completion of the last full lap, as adjusted by the flagman for karts sent to the rear.

RR10 All karts must stop when the red flag is out.

RR11 While on the track, drivers must remain in their karts, unless directed. Otherwise drivers leaving their karts may be disqualified from the race.

RR12 Mechanical repairs do to an accident must be made at the top of the track unless instructed to do so by an official.

RR13 The track may tech a kart at anytime and in any manner at the Tech personals discretion.
RR14 The top two karts out of every A feature race will be teched at the Tech personals discretion.

RR15 All classes will be open and ran IF there are 3 karts to compete.

GROUND RULES

GR1 Prior to entering the pit area, drivers and pit crews, must have paid entry fees and signed a notarized waiver. Pit personal must designate the kart number they are with.

GR2 Schedules for fees will be posted at the check-in building

GR3 No racer or pit personal will be allowed in the check-in stand.

GR4 Each driver and kart must pay an entry fee before racing each event.

GR5 If a substitute kart is utilized for backup, it must be paid for, teched, and registered before it is used.

GR6 Drivers may enter more than one class per racing event, provided fees are paid.

GR7 Kart and driver check-in is no later than 6:30 P.M. Late karts and drivers will be started at the rear of their heat races. If you need a later arrival time for check-in you must previously have it approved by the board.

GR8 In case of rain out, a make-up day will be announced. If races are rained out after the heat races are completed the program will continue on the makeup day where it was interrupted. CHECK THE INTERNET SITE OR LISTEN TO KICK-FM FOR DETAILS

GR9 Required driver equipment includes: long sleeve jacket heavier than a windbreaker a properly fitting full-face helmet with shield ( SNELL 2000 or M 2000 APPROVED OR BETTER ) driving gloves, a board approved neck restraints. Shoes and pants must be worn at all times when on the track. Driver equipment and restraint systems subject to tech by safety inspector at any time.

GR10 Numbers are assigned on a first come-first serve basis with the previous year’s driver having first pick. Newer drivers may be asked to add a letter along with their number, for scoring purposes. Drivers may enter only one number per class. Drivers will drive only that number in which they register and no other driver may drive that number.

GR11 A driver who has been designated for track duty and does not do a satisfactory job will sacrifice his or her points for the day.

GR12 The track is closed at all times. Any kart caught on the track other than scheduled racing times will be banned from racing for 2 consecutive racing nights. After the last scheduled event has been completed for the evening karts may be allowed on the track if pre-approved by an official.

GR13 All karts must pack the track or they do not run for the evening. A board official will determine if the reason for not packing is legitimate. Officials will determine how much packing is done.

GR14 While in the pit area, all karts must be pointed to the outside of the pit area when running.

GR15 Any kart protested or selected for teardown will not leave the pit area until instructed to leave. If the kart does leave, the penalty will be the same as an upheld protest.

GR16 Failing to correct safety violations will result in not racing in that evening’s event.

GR17 Pit passes are required in the pit area.

GR18 An engine may be protested upon the deposit of $50 CASH. The protestor must be a driver or a crewmember of a kart in that class and have raced that event. The protester must contact a board member or tech personal. If no discrepancies are found, the deposit is forfeited to the kart owner. If the protest is upheld, the deposit will be returned to the protester. Only the tech personal and one member of the protested and protesting team may enter the tech building during teardown process. (If you are protesting another motor you must tell the scale personal before you leave the scale after that race event.)

GR19 No dumping of fuel or oil on the fairground property.

GR20 The techman will render the final decision on any teardown, protest decision or questions on the rules.

GR21 No smoking in the staging area at any time.

GR23 Runestone Race Track uses I.K.F. engine rules only. We are not an I.K.F. sanctioned track.

GR25 All karts must scale after each race. Failing to scale or the kart being under weight will result in the loss of points for that race.

GR26 Engine, Fuel, Tire or Weight infraction will result in the loss of all points and trophy for that event
2nd offense would result in loss of all points up to that date and a 1-week suspension. 3rd offense would result in loss of all points and suspension for the season. *During a suspension you are not allowed to run any other class.

GR27 Rookie class teardown rules are treated the same as unsportsman-like behavior.

GR28 Denying a teardown will result in the same as a engine rule infraction

GR29 At the last event of the season, if a kart is found to have a tire, engine or fuel infraction it will lose its points for that night and the previous event attended.

GR30 All trailers need to have a fire extinquisher approved for methanol.

CHASSIS RULES

CR1 Width of kart will not exceed 50" measured from the outside of the tires. Length limit is 6 feet. Spindles must not protrude beyond the tire by more than _" and must not have sharp edges.

CR2 You must run full width bumpers in caged classes. Full width bumpers for IKF classes are optional.

CR3 A steady nerf bar is required in front of the rear wheels, on each side of the kart. Corners must round and no sharp edges.

CR4 All caged karts must be equipped with at least a 4-point roll cage. The main bars must be no less than 1" O.D. steel tubing. Thickness minimum .065 thick. Roll cage shall not be constructed of electrical conduit material. (TECH ITEM)

CR5 The cage must be of sufficient height and width so that the driver’s head, with a helmet on, leaves a minimum of 4 inches safety clearance from the top and to any side bar. An additional crossbar over the drives head and feet is required. (TECH ITEM)

CR6 Width of the cage must be at least as wide as the driver’s shoulders, plus 4 inches of clearance at shoulder height.

CR7 Tire rim size is not to exceed 6" in diameter. Slicks are mandatory.

CR8 Any weight added must be BOLTED SECURELY AND PINED to the karts main frame. All weights shall be painted white with the kart number on them in black.

CR9 Use of suspension components of any type, including springs, shocks, etc. is prohibited. This also includes the mounting of the cage.

CR10 Board approved, not supplied, seat belts, shoulder harness, wrist restraints and leg restraints will be mandatory in caged karts. Seat belt and restraints must hold the driver within the rollcage envelope. No bungy cords allowed.

CR11 Adequate foot protection is required.

CR12 Karts must have an adequate belly pan from the front of the seat forward.

CR13 Both brake and throttle must be operated by the driver’s feet and within easy reach of the driver.

CR14 Brakes must be in good operating condition with 2 wheels locking. Wheel scrub brakes are not allowed.

CR15 An operational electrical kill switch for the engine is mandatory. The switch must be mounted within easy reach. A tie strap on the plug wire must be provided.

CR16 A sturdy chain guard is required to extend a _ " beyond the chain width and have a minimum overall length of 6".

CR17 Kart number must be on the front, back, and both sides of the kart and must be clearly legible. Side numbers must be at least 6 inches high and mounted near the top of the roll cage. Rear and front numbers must be at least 4 inches high. The numbers must be of a contrasting color to the number panel.

CR18 Gas tank or engine components cannot extend past the rear of the bumper.

CR19 Exhaust pipes must use a safety washer.

CR20 No racheting or limited slip rear hubs.

CR21 THE ASSOCIATION RESERVES THE RIGHT TO AMEND ANY RULE AT ANY TIME AND IN ANY WAY IN THE INTEREST OF SAFTEY.
