For this tutorial I will use Mozilla FireFox arguably the worlds most popular web browser. Follow these steps to download from YouTube.

First get the extension Video Download Helper for Mozilla FireFox.
From Here

1.1>
Skip this sub-step if you know how to install a Mozilla FireFox extension. Go to Here and click on the buttonnamed Add To Firefox below  the name "Video Download Helper" as shown in the picture below.

A message should pop up now in your screen. Click on it then wait 5 seconds for the okay button to pop up.

After this your Extension will automatically download and install itself. After installation you have to restart Mozilla FireFox.

In this step I assume you have the Video Download Helper extension installed for Mozilla FireFox.

2.1>
Now go to your preferred YouTube Video Page. For this tutorial I use this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLm4Fo_w11Q&feature=related .

Now after the video has started to play, Click on   Tools > DownloadHelper ><TheNameOfTheVideo> as shown in the screenshot

3> After this the download should start sometimes the downloaded file does not have an extension so it is best to save the file as <preferredname>.flv the .flv is important. e.g MCHammer.flv

To Play FLV files use a player like MediaPlayer Classic, VLC Media Player, RealPlayer.
