Victoria Military Simulation

Rules & Regulations

You've Never Played Army Like This Before

T
hese basic MilSim Rules are the foundation by which our MilSim activities are conducted.
This is by no means a comprehensive list and will be modified or updated on a regular basis.

Rules may be added to these core rules and they may be altered by additional rules put in place for a specific scenario.

This is a non-profit group of military simulation enthusiasts and is of a military simulation format. All who participate in MilSim should be familiar with these rules and regulations.

MilSim rules create conditions and variables of actual small infantry units operating in the field. We try to inject as much realism as possible, yet at the same time we balance it with fun and safety. In order to achieve these conditions, our military simulated operations use the following rules:

Victoria Military Simulation Team - Rules and Regs:

1. Every team member and recruit strives to play within the prescribed MilSim scenario and format; faithfully executing all rules. These rules are not all encompassing and various operations rules may be modified to fit the scenario utilizing some, part, or all of this set of rules.

2. Respect your team and yourself by:

  • Exhibit a strong team ethic.
  • Always looking sharp and be proud of your team
  • Maintaining your equipment.
  • Realizing that Mil Sim is a commitment, not just a game.

3. Cost:  Mil Sim is free!  Once you get over the initial expenditure of purchasing your primary gear, very little if any, costs are incurred in the participation of Mil Sim.

4. Admission to Victoria Military Simulation: Members are expected to help recruit new members. In keeping it authentic, a member must be of the age of 14 or older (or a high school freshman) to be eligible for the team.

5. Recruits (Private E1) are considered "members in training". This is to determine if the recruit is serious, and has the drive to become a member of the team.

6. Participate: Any team member (Private E2 or above) that does not participate, or is inactive for 90 days, will be considered "a lack of interest" and subsequently dropped to reserve status. Exceptions include:

  1. members currently serving in the military,
  2. attending college out-of-town,
  3. residing out-of-town (at least 50 miles or more),
  4. on extended vacation,
  5. other reasonable circumstances.
7. Uniform/Equipment: Members wear  woodland pattern BDU's (battle dress uniform ), the DCU, ACU, MARPAT, MULTICAM  is also acceptable All players are encouraged to have FRS radios with headset w/boom style mic. Web gear, tactical-vest not required, but heartily encouraged. No bringing of real firearms.  Each member/or guest is personally responsible for his own safety and safety of equipment, whether owned or borrowed.  Accidents do happen, but please be careful and responsible.

8. Weapons: Airsoft weapons carried by team members are exact replicas of real assault weapons used by the United States military, firing a 6mm plastic, biodegradable BB. These weapons are incredibly realistic looking and are not to be displayed anywhere other than the Mil Sim site.

9. We are a group: Members are encouraged to arrive at the MilSim site together to begin as a "group" on any given night.

10. Transportation & Attendance: Members should contact the commander to arrange transportation if nesessary, preferably one or more days in advance.

11. Training: MilSim members engage in training in all environments and during all seasons of weather.
The term "no pain, no gain" does not apply here.  If you are injured, or become ill in any way, contact a squad leader immediately.
The team usually conducts between one-two road trips each year, some of which include one day trips, and possibly multiple day excursions (trips are not mandatory).

12.  Guests: Mil Sim is "invite only". Team member guests are allowed during Mil Sim only with prior approval . Team members who bring guest(s) shall assume responsibility for that guest.  We often look at guests as future recruits.
NOTE: On-lookers, mommy or daddy, girlfriends or wives, etc. are a distraction to Mil Sim and are not encouraged, therefore we have a no visitors policy.

13. Physical ContactAny unwanted or unwarranted physical contact such as grappling or physically detaining a participants clothing, or gear, is prohibited, unless during a MilSim scenario.

14.  All members are required to know

  • simple first aid,
  • voice commands over radio (we will teach you),
  • hand signals (used to communicate with your team members when absolute silence is required- we will teach you),
  • movement techniques (knowing how to walk and/or crawl quietly and undetected- we will teach you) .
15.  No attitudes, No alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs will be allowed at Mil Sim activities...at any time!

Note:  Membership is restricted to those who adhere to the spirit of MilSim.

What i have posted here is from my own personal experiance as an active military simulation player and enthusiast, as well as knowledge passed on to me in a direct, first-person manner from trusted, well-respected members of the U.S. Army, AirForce and Marine Corps.
