Hello and Welcome to rubberfeetgirls.com!
I started this website when I realized there was little to no information for young women who happen to be amputees.
As a lower extremity amputee myself, I was searching the web one day for solutions to my many issues regarding SHOES, when all I could find were websites for custom orthopedic shoes (and lets face it ladies, we DON'T want to wear those!). Because of this and other issues that only other women amputees could understand, I searched for online communities for someone in my unique position. Surprisingly, I found none. And so I founded this site!
We shouldn't have to compromise being young, vivacious, and stylish women just because a certain shoe won't stay on, or that skirt shows a prosthetic stocking! This site is here to discuss real issues that real women have about being amputees, discover solutions to common/uncommon problems, share stories, and most of all make friends with women who REALLY understand!
So please, stop by the forums and make yourself known! You are NOT ALONE!
