Wes Craven was born in Cleveland, Ohio on 08-02-1939. Craven is best known for his involvement with the burnt maniac from the Nightmare On Elm Street movies; Freddy Krueger. Craven attended Wheaton College and earned a B.A. in Psychology and Education. He also later went on to earn a M.A. in Philosphy at Johns Hopkins. Before the movies; Craven was a college professor which he later quit and became a taxi driver.
Wes Craven's first movie was Last House on the Left which was made in 1972. This movie turned out to be a classic. He then followed in the same path with The Hills Have Eyes in 1977 and then the world was afraid to fall asleep with A Nightmare on Elm Street in 1984. After that Craven was involved with many more films but none were as memorable as his first three; but all of that changed in 1996 when Craven played with our minds again in the chiller SCREAM. Craven re-invented teen horror films.
