Donations

We ask for a minimum donation of

£65 for a cat 7months and over

£70 for a kitten under 7 months

£30 for a cat 10 years old +

Payment

By Cash Only

Due to the amount of cheques that have been returned to us unpaid, we now ask for the donation in cash only.

All cats that are adopted have had at least their 1st vaccination (2nd if they have been with us more than 3 weeks), been microchipped,  neutered or come back to us for neutering at the appropriate age, wormed and de-flead. If the cat has only had it's first vaccination when adopted, it is the responsibility of the adoptor to get the 2nd vaccination done at their own vets.

If you compare this to the price you could pay at a private vet

 Neutering £50 - £60
 1st Vaccination £25 - £40
 Microchip £20 - £30
 Flea Treatment (per month) £5 - £10
 Worming (per month)  £3 - £5

Of course this doesn't take into account a lot of cats coming into us either are injured or sick and can run up large vet bills. Also the food, litter and general costs of caring for a cat.

Izzy and Poppet

Izzy and Poppet are mum and daughter and looking for a new home together. It’s always hard finding homes for pairs of cats but these two are very close and we really think it would be unfair to separate them. Izzy is mum, she is a tabby and was born in December 2007, she is very friendly but takes a back seat to her daughter Poppet who is usually the first to the front for a cuddle. Poppet is black and was born in March 2009, she is very affectionate and just wants love and cuddles. These girls came to us after a marriage break up.

Both girls are fully vaccinated, neutered, micro chipped, wormed and de-flead.

We ask for a donation of £65 per cat

Rio

Rio is an extremely friendly female cat. She is a black, short haired cat and was taken and left at our vets. She is a lovely girl and can’t believe anyone would just give her up. She is healthy, has a lovely coat and a fantastic personality. She wants to be everybody’s friend and would like a home where she gets lots of attention.

She is fully vaccinated, been neutered, micro chipped, wormed and de-flead.

Snuffles

Snuffles was admitted to us with five kittens after she decided to pop into a ladies house and give birth. The lady knocked on her neighbours doors to see if she belonged to anyone nearby but after having no luck finding her owner she was brought into us. She raised her kittens well and now looking for a new home of her own. Snuffles is a very affectionate, young cat (approx 18months old), she is semi long haired and all black. She is very friendly and loves a cuddle.

She is fully vaccinated, been neutered, micro chipped, wormed and de-flead.

Panda

Panda is a young, black and white, short haired, female. Panda was found up a tree and had to be rescued by the fire brigade and unfortunately was never reclaimed by her owner. She is a friendly cat but is always on the move and loves to explore and investigate, everything and anything. She keeps herself very busy and loves it if someone will play games with her. She is approx 8 months old and still acts very kitten like.

She is fully vaccinated, been neutered, micro chipped, wormed and de-flead.

Teegan

Teegan is a black, short haired, female cat. She was picked up by an inspector as she was given birth in someone’s garden. She was extremely thin when she came into us and we believe she had been living as a stray for some time. We started feeding her 6 meals a day and supplementing her kittens as she didn’t have the milk to feed them, but the kittens have now been re-homed leaving Teegan looking for a new home of her own. We aren’t sure how old she is but believe she is over 5 years old, she has a lovely temperament and just wants love and a place to call her own. She still looks quiet thin but the vet believes now she is neutered she will gain some weight and this is probably down to having several litters one after another.

She is fully vaccinated, been neutered, micro chipped, wormed and de-flead.

Prince

Prince is a very friendly, 1 year old, male cat. He came to us as he kept getting into trouble and his owner no longer wanted him. Prince is full of mischief and very kitten like, he has managed to get stuck up a tree, on a roof and his last adventure was getting stuck in the mud flaps of the river Medway, luckily the tide was out and an Inspector and coast guard managed to rescue him. Prince needs lots of fuss and attention and things to keep him amused, but is a very loving cat and just needs another chance of a new forever home.

He has had his 1st vaccination, been neutered, micro chipped, wormed and de-flead.

Tarot

Tarot is an adult male, black cat. This poor cat was brought to us from a member of the public who said had seen teenagers throwing a bag into the road, when she saw it moving she stopped and when she untied the bag she found Tarot with his legs bound with string, very dazed and shocked. He surprisingly had no injures apart from some old scabs around his neck which looks like he may have had a bite or a flea allergy. Tarot is a very friendly, affectionate lad, he is a little fussy with his food and will only eat food in pouches but this is the only negative thing about him, his a super cat and deserves a wonderful new home. We have aged him as approx 6 years old.

He has had his 1st vaccination, been neutered, micro chipped, wormed and de-flead.

We ask for a donation of £65 per cat

Bubbles

Bubbles is a small, friendly, loving, female cat. She was signed into our care when she gave birth to kittens and her couldn’t cope with them. Bubbles is mainly black with a white flash on her throat and white back paws, she is a very petite cat and she is 2 years old. Bubbles likes cuddles and fuss and is very affectionate.

She is fully vaccinated, been neutered, micro chipped, wormed and de-flead.

Kittens

RSPCA Medway West Branch has many kittens looking for new homes. We have a variety of colours, although most are kittens are male, we do have a few females also looking for new homes.

Before thinking about taking a kitten from us please read the information below.

Kittens are like children and need company, they do not like being left alone and will become destructive if left alone too long. If you are working we suggest you take two kittens so they can keep one another company or if you have an existing cat so the kitten doesn’t get lonely.

At 6 months old the kitten(s) will need to come back to our clinic at 174 Walderslade Road, Chatham, Kent to be neutered (this is included in the donation fee) on a Tuesday. The Cat will need to be at the clinic between 8.30am – 9am (no later) and will need to be collected between 1pm – 1.30pm. If you refuse to get the kitten neutered or a female kitten gets pregnant you will be in breach of the adoption contract and we will remove your adopted cat and any kittens that it may have from your care.
We ask for a donation of £70 for kittens under 6 months old, they will have had at least their 1st vaccination (the adopter is responsible for the 2nd if not done), they will be micro chipped, de-flead, wormed and their neutering will be done at 6 months old.
If you wish to get the kitten neutered at your own vet the donation fee will drop to £60 but proof must be sent to us when the kitten has been neutered, failure to neuter will mean we will take the cat away under breach of contract.

We ask for a £70 donation per cat under 6 months old.

All new owners enter into an animal adoption agreement with us in which we clearly set out how we expect our animals to be looked after with the final reassurance that if, for whatever reason, it does not work out and the animal can no longer be cared for we expect the animal to be returned to us at Rspca Medway West.
