Protoss vs. Zerg

About PvZ

PvZ is a hard matchup for some Protoss players. PvZ is difficult because the Zerg's ability to switch between powering and mass is unmatched by Protoss. Protoss players rely on smaller forces of stronger units to overpower the Zerg's larger forces of weaker units. The High Templar's special ability, Psionic Storm, is arguably the most important in playing PvZ. Good Storming will reduce the Zerg's unit count to a more manageable number, allowing the Protoss player to overrun the Zerg with a superior force in terms of strength. Pressuring the Zerg is very, very important. A Zerg recieving no pressure from the Protoss player will be able to safely power as to provide a staggeringly powerful economy, and will then be able to mass units at a dangerous rate. It is very easy for a Zerg player to run out of hotkeys for units very early into a game if they are not pressured. Pressuring forces the Zerg player to power less, and mass more, meaning the Zerg will not have as strong of an economy as they really need to be able to stay equal with a Protoss player who is balancing unit production and Probe production efficiently.
