About PvP
The Protoss vs. Protoss matchup can be a difficult matchup, partially due to the fact that the only advantage a player has is one that the opposing player allows his or her opponent to have. The same goes with disadvantages. Everything is equal; you have the same units, abilities, and so you must keep the same number of expansions throughout the game. Expanding in this matchup is risky, and so expanding can only be done if you are sure you can hold it. If you lose it, you will probably lose the game. In a way, there is also a great deal of luck involved in playing Protoss vs. Protoss. Making one minor error can be the difference between winning and losing. For example, say you are moving out with a sizeable force of Dragoons, but you don't attack move, and instead end up moving into your opponent's force of Dragoons, and you lose 10% of your force. Now, your opponent is ahead of you in unit count. Assuming both players are on equal standing (same number of expansions, Gateways, same units, etc.) your opponent now has a large advantage over you. The only reason your opponent has this advantage is because of an error. Again, the only advantages or disadvantages a player has during a game of PvP is one you allow to happen or your opponent allows to happen.
