                                Sally

Sally, Sally, Sally.  She was something else!  Sally Sue was an absolute sweetheart, an energetic firecracker speed demon, and a cheesy ham all rolled into one.  The first time I met Sally, her daddy brought her into our clinic as a nine week old puppy.  She was the youngest Vizsla puppy I'd seen in person, and I thought she was the cutest little thing ever!  Like a Weim, but special in her own right.  Each visit thereafter, I was more and more hooked!  When Sally was six months old, we (meaning the clinic) spayed her.  Being the crazy little thing she is, she promptly went home and ripped out her inner suture line.  In short, we ended up having to do a second surgery, using steel suture.  Her daddy opted to have her stay at the clinic with us until she was healed, to make sure she did not hinder her healing.  During that time, I was her primary caretaker, and fell even more in love with her.  In the months thereafter, her daddy would bring Sally to the clinic for the sole purpose of visiting me.  When Sally was 18 months old, her daddy's life was not going as he had planned, and he did not think he was giving Sally everything she needed.  He always wanted the best for her, and now he thought the best was more than he could offer her, and selflessly, heartbreakingly, decided she needed a better home.  He came to the clinic for help, and I of course volunteered to take Sally in (with the intention of finding her a home).  What can I say, Sally was my first foster failure!  LOL  I never even started to find her a home - I didn't even bother.  The second her daddy handed her over to me, I knew she was meant to be a part of my family.  I think I fell in love with this rusty shrunken Weim the first time I met her, and I am so blessed I was able to share my life with such a neat dog.
