The music playing is "In The Beginning" by Michael Oldfield.  Sequencer unknown.

Please note: Foxfire has apparently fixed its issues.
This site now runs on it very nicely.  I would not suggest Mozilla.
Thank you.

Welcome, come in and have some tea and just relax.

My name is Rheeta-Lou.  Welcome to my little corner of the web.  I have some tea ready, and if you have the time, then I have some things to share with you.  If you came here from one of the other sites I belong to, then maybe you will be familiar with some of my writings.  However, no one site holds everything that I have written, as my little scribblings are too diverse.  This is just a little place that I intend to use to cache my little ramblings.  So, I have slowly been gathering them from various places and putting them here, where they can all be at home, together.

Currently, the music playing on the pages are just some of my favourites and I feel they fit the tone.  Some of them were sequenced by others, some are my interpretations.  Most of the music is by Enya.  I am in the process of crediting those sequencers for which I have information.  If there are any issues, please e-mail me.

This represents my heart and soul.  Sometimes it is light-hearted and humourous; other times, it is down and dark.  But, that is life.  The things here are just for enjoyment.

Now, maybe a little bit about me.  We live on a farm in the Midwest.  It is a relatively small farm, only seventy-six acres.  But, it is ours.  We live in an old log house app. 160 years old.  We used to have cows, horses, goats, pigs, rabbits, cats and dogs.  All of the livestock is gone.  We are reduced to two house cats: Etc and Del and a hamster the size of a rat, and looks like a 'possom.  Smokey is no longer with us.  We have several outside cats (Sid Viscious, Farley, a spotted tabby and Barn Cat.  And, one dog, Candy.  I have also aquired a red Australian Shepherd.  And, for Valentine's Day, the Dude allowed me a parakeet (which is cheaper than jewelry, I pointed out).  Since then, I have aquired two cockatiels.  This makes it easier to pick up and go, of which we do an awful lot.  It does make the camper crowded, what with two cats, at least two kids and sometimes four or five and us.

We go camping at least once a month, year-round.  It is not the easiest thing to camp in the snow, but at least we do not do it in a tent.  We have been known to go as far as six miles to camp.  And we do not mind if it is in someone's drive-way.

We have four children: Shanna, who is twenty-five and married to Alfonso.  She has a five-year-old son, Sebastian.  Jaela-René, twenty-three, has a daughter, Azaria-Ann (our second nanachild).  Michael, sixteen and Brian, fourteen.  They have inspired most of the poetry you will find: the good and the bad.

I am a musician.  Music is my first passion.  I play keyboards and piano.  I play with a praise band at church and basically will play for anyone who asks.  I also do weddings, funerals and the occasional anniversary/birthday party.  We also do some singing in our local communities.

We are Christians who are active in our church.  I am very firm in my beliefs and I am willing to share, but I am not one to force anything.  Most know the truth; some are just willing to test God's patience  (when it comes to ignoring Him, like any parent, he will run out fast).

I also dabble in writing.  Poetry and such are more what I am feeling.  My fiction is just what runs around in my head.  I have the two fanfics, a third one I have started and a shorter piece.  I am also writing two original stories that I hope to have published.

We own a small fireworks production company.  We do municipal shows and a few private ones.  So far, we are doing thirteen this year.  Can you have too many fireworks?  I believe so; that is why I am more on the sidelines.  But, all four of the kids work for us and Sebastian and I find enough to keep us busy.  And, then there will be Azaria this fall, so, we will have our own crew before long.    And we are always recruiting help.

If you have any questions or comments to make, you can e-mail me at rousroep@nalu.net

I hope you enjoy your sojourn into my world.  I plan to update as soon as I figure out what I am doing.

UPDATES

September 11, 2006
Today marks the fifth anniversary of 9/11.  It is with great sorrow that we remember this day.  The loss of life was staggering, considering that it was not an act of war that killed so many, but rather an act of cowardice that murdered so many.  And, the loss of life in Iraq has weighed heavy on many hearts.  I pray that the perpetrators of such heinous acts would consider what it is they hope to achieve.  Murder in the name of God is not spiritual nor is it just.  It is murder.  May we finish what was started and leave their country in stable and capable hands.

I have updated Chrysalis.  Enjoy.

I figured it was time to update.  We are currently in the process of fitting a child back into our home.  Jaela-René, after seven months of wedded bliss, was told by her husband that he is no longer happy.  So, she and Azaria are back home.  I am enjoying it, so far.  I can see advantages, and disadvantages.  So far, the former are outweighing the latter.

The writing sucks.  I have not written anything, other than a very smutty slash piece for JunoMagic, in months.  I did manage a couple of poems.  However, that is not where my heart lies.  So, buck up, muses.  I need stories.

2-13-2006
It has been a while.  I am still busy writing.  I am seriously contemplating trying to get the poetry published.  I have hoardes of people wanting a book, and all three of them have cash.  LOL

Azaria is almost crawling.  She is jabbering and cooing.  Michael turned 16 the 2nd, and Sebastian turned 6 on the 8th.

Ah, Valentine's Day.  The romantic center of the calendar.  I got a parakeet.  Not romantic, I admit, but, it is what I wanted.  I found a mostly white one, with just a touch of blue, here and there.  I am quite happy with it.

I also have a new dog.  My Pekeneese, Smokey is no longer with us.  I have just acquired a red Australian Shepherd.  She is a beauty, but needs scads of work.  But, they are intelligent dogs, and she is learning alreadly.

Now that November is over, I thought I would update the site a bit.  I did not finish NaNoWriMo.  That makes me a LOSER, but I am not upset.  I got 29,602 words into another original novel.  How can that be bad?
Dec. 9-10 we spent at Morris for the Live Nativity.  It is a community presentation of the birth of Christ.  I have been participating for about ten years, and last year, the Dude joined me.  I really think I should have skipped this year.  I spent all of last week in bed with sinusitis.  What a miserable way to exist.  I am better this week, but still tire easily.  Oh, and Azaria was able to help out; she was baby Jesus for about a half-hour, the she'd had enough of that stuff.  She wanted held.

I have updated "Ela's World" with new drabbles.  I do not have the Dance of Life finished, but the others are posted.  There are a couple of racier ones, and a humorous one, as well.  Enjoy, and I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and New Year.

Well, thanks to Juno_Magic, I have signed up for the NaNoWriMo.  That is the National Novel Writer's Month.  It is a yearly event where, on November 1st, you start a novel and stop on November 30th.  The goal is to write 50,000 words.  Needless to say, it will probably not be a great, or even good, novel.  But, that is not the purpose.  The purpose it to make you write.  You can always polish it later.  So, maybe I can write, and finish, a story.  I am thinking of finishing "Saqin u’Maulir" or "A Hope Called Harmony".  I know, a corny title, but it is a working title.  Or, I have started a new sci-fi story.  It looks promising.  I suppose we will see how it turns out in December.

9-20-2005
Well, I have reorganized 'Ela's World'.  I think it is the way I want it.

On another note, Azaria is beautiful and good.  She hardly ever cries.  What a blessing for her mother.

9-10-2005

I revamped chapter six of Chrysalis.  And, I added Chpater Seven.  8-10 are with the beta, so as soon as she finishes, I will post them.  But not all at once.

My family reunion went as expected.  There was a nice turn out.  Those I really do not like did not show up, and the one who did, I ignored.  Very diplomatic of me, othewise, I may have said something nasty.  I almost did anyway.

After another two day stay in the hospita with jaundice, Azaria is home.  And just as beautiful.

8-26-2005
Azaria-Ann Elizabeth graced us with her presence this morning at 4:49am central time.  Mother and child are doing fine.  It is our second nanachild.  She joins Sebastian Lee.

7/13/2005
Chapter Seven for Chrysalis is up.
Sorry for the delay, but as I had the new chapters ready to post, my hard drive crashed.  There were some issues with chapter Six.  I have fixed them.  I lost chapters 6-9; however, my beta had 6 & 7, so I went ahead and posted  them.  I lost a lot of pictures and two other stories, plus what I had written on an original story.  Lesson learned?  Make sure your back-up actually copies to the CD.  Mine did not.  What a downer!
 July 10, 2005

My birthday was the usual lack of fanfare.  I did receive a nice onyx cross from my friends Lauren and Neil.  And birthday wishes from Mora and the others at Quills and Ink.  Oddly, that meant more to me than the others.  I did get fireworks for my birthday.  Big whoop.  The Dude finally remembered to wish me happy birthday at about 10:30 Saturday night.  I am glad his memory is not totally gone.

Please take the time to sign my guestbook.  I really want to know how you found the site and where you live.
