Laddie

Laddie is a 2 year old pitbull that I rescued in March of 2008 from New Orleans, LA... He was a low heartworm positive,  had demodex mange, and was still intact. The background of Laddie is unknown, but somethings I gathered, is that when arriving in my home, Laddie was far more comfortable around dogs, than people...  I don't think he was ever inside a home before, much less know what a crate was, house rules or housebreaking... It was 3 months before Laddie held his potties in his crate for the first time... His first 3 months were very hard on me. He would bark ALL DAY in his crate, he chewed through and escaped 3 different crates, he broke into the dogs food dispenser and would eat roughly 10 pounds of Innova Evo in one sitting, then proceed to leave presents for me...  Laddie was so needy in everything it was taking time and training away from Riddick and Isabella, and the fact that he was not improving had me wondering if I was the right home for him...

Never one to give up, I kept pressing, training, and exercising him... Laddie's a smart dog, a quick thinker, he can get himself out of any situation... He was here for a reason, I just had to figure out how to get through to him... By the end of May, and changing vets, I finally had his skin condition healed up, and he looked like a real dog with no missing hair patches... He was finally cleared to be neutered and his first night of holding potties in his crate was celebrated with a bunch of hugs and kisses...  He liked that, and since has only had 2 accidents(runny stool)... Thank God... Laddie loves his brother and sister, and Mr Kiki is a creature that is ignored, but usually only when Mr Kiki wants to be ignored...

Laddie has been here over a year now, and has developed into a AMAZING lil' pitbull... I feel so blessed to have him in my life, and know that our hard work when he first arrived has paid off... He's a amazing, beautiful dog... He has just blossomed, and no longer has a fear of strangers, he loves all dogs(although, some don't like him... ), and he accepts everyone who comes into our home with a Laddie hug and tail wagging...
