Brief Club History

Rotherfield Football Club is a friendly village club, which has three sides that compete in the Grey Hooper Holt LLP Mid-Sussex Football League. Rotherfield F.C. was formed in 1893 and originally played in the Crowborough and Tunbridge Wells Leagues. The club had many successful seasons winning many league and cup trophies. Rotherfield F.C. registered with the Mid Sussex Football League in 1993 but previous to that Rotherfield F.C. played in the Tonbridge Football League for 54 years.

Today Rotherfield F.C. is a strong club with an ever growing junior section, which helps children to become more confident in their football, gives youngsters a fair chance of playing football and in the long term future, strengthen the senior teams. The age range of the junior section is from four to fifteen years old, which is ran by a number of qualified coaches such as Roddy and Anne Harman, Andy Gribble, Graham Lelliot, and Peter Ford on Saturday mornings 10:00am till 12:00pm.

Rotherfield Football Club has recently gained FA Charter Status. This is a grand achievement as Rotherfield are the only club in their league to have this status and they are the only local club to have this status on a club level and not just at junior level.
