"Eddie" has an amazing story. He survived completely shattering his pastern bone, the pain and neglect that followed afterward, and came through it to become an admirable stallion and sire. His lines are older and might not be what are "in" right now, but what we have here is quality that stands the test of time. Check out his pedigree below--there is a solid list of champion horses here--ones that were able to show halter during the morning, pleasure in the afternoon, timed events later, and then the next day go on a relaxing trail ride. You won't find fine-boned, weak hocked, founder-prone horses in his lines. There is a reason why he survived what he did--he has strong genetics that are resistant to disease and lameness. These are the same genes that enabled his sire to pull bulls into chutes at rodeos at the age of 21 (he is also an APHA Champion, by the way). These are the same genes that will strengthen the contemporary lines that have been inbred to the point of weakness. These are the same genes that can eliminate many of the specialized shoeing costs and extra vet expenses in your herd. And should you choose to breed to him, these are the same genes that can add strength and versatility to your own stock.
