People waited in queue well in advance to enter Athena recently for the show by ‘Conceptions’.
There was a scramble to get seats with a vantage view, as this was not just about designer wear, it was Ronn Moss, who was the main attraction.
Most of the guests, who sipped champagne as they waited for the show to begin, were ardent fans of Bold and Beautiful, many following it for 15 years.
As Divya, a fan said, “I have been watching this soap since I was six. But now with a job, I do not find the time though I catch it on the net once in a while.” Said another 20 something, “I can’t get enough of the serial.”
It was around 10 pm when Sandeep Kumar, CEO, Conceptions, got the evening started.
All the ladies wished they’d won the prize of meeting and getting an autograph from Ronn, nee Ridge Forrester of ‘B&B’.
Models Jackie, Ramiya, Karishma, among others, draped in designer Ramesh Dembla’s collection brought out the youth in you. Frilly skirts which stopped mid thigh flowing into billowing lengths, vibrant reds, turquoise, whites, the ever-captivating blacks with loads of attitude, snazzy belts, high boots, were followed by the saree collection in colours of the rainbow.
With intricate embellishments, the cholis with innovative designs on the back, stole the show.
The star of the evening, Ron walked on the ramp surrounded by the beautiful models and the applause was deafening. “Good evening, how are you today?” he asked in his husky voice, and the girls went ballistic.
“Why salt and pepper hair?” queried a fan. To which Ronn replied, “You remind me of Stephanie, my mother in the show...Looks like you talk too much. It is nice to be natural.”
Ronn started out as a medical doctor, and he talked about his artistic side.
“Here I am, a musician again, and I’m coming to India with my concert in March.” The ladies begged him to sing. This Pisean feels, “It is better to do it right. Wait for my concert, that’s how it works in show business.” Ronn’s album was released by Anchal from Mumbai.
Ramesh chose Ronn from other celebrities since he was already in Mumbai. Undoubtedly, a good choice. “I was in this part of the country and it looked like a good opportunity to hook up with Ramesh as I follow Ramesh’s collections in LA.”
