BOLD BID TO BE AUSSIE
Article from: Herald Sun

December 22, 2005 12:00am

US actor Ronn Moss is in Australia again, and if he could have his way, he'd be here much more.

The daytime soap star has fallen in love with Australia, and is back in town filming an ad campaign.

He loves the country so much, he is launching a campaign to be Australian of the Year. Seriously.

Details will be revealed about that campaign sooner rather than later, but the bid to become Australian of the Year may be not what it all seems.

Moss is flying home to Los Angeles for Christmas, and back to the Bold and the Beautiful set, where he has been working for the past 19 years.

He will be back in Australia next year, this time with his band for another music tour.

Moss also hopes to bring his two daughters, aged 11 and seven, here for a holiday.

He said the pressure of filming and learning all the hundreds of lines so quickly was so intense, he loved coming to Australia as it gave him something else to think about other than the rigorous soap schedule.

Some actors might think working on a soap wasn't real acting, but talking to Moss, the schedule was incredibly hectic and it sounded like a whole lot of hard work.

Beautiful tone

AT an intimate lunch with Moss at Fenix in Richmond yesterday, he was one of the most down-to-earth actors you could meet.

Long-term Bold fan, Herald Sun photographer Fiona Hamilton, provided the comic highlight of the lunch when her mobile phone rang.

The ring tone?

None other than the Bold theme in all its glory.

Worldwide hit

AS well as Australia, Moss is huge in places such as India, Italy, Poland and Scandinavia.

Bold is the most-watched soap opera in the world.
