N.F.S Review

I arrived on the roof of Jackson Square mall at around 2 pm, to find absolutely no one thier. I thaught this was going to be reminicent of the competition it's self. After a string of bad luck with my sponsors (K2, and Razor) who backed out of the competition at the last second, I doubted anyone would come.Eventually some people showed up that I knew I could count on (Brandon-bread, josh-fingerz, Chris, and Roger). We fucked around on the roof for a while when a security guard told us not to skate on the roof, we said we wouldn't, while in the back of our headz we all knew in about 30 minutes a competition would actually take place there. The funny thing is the security guard never botherd us while we heald the competition.

After eating some Taco Bell which eventually made me puke my guts out in a garbage bin, we saw people actually comming to compete in N.F.S from oakville and Toronto. This was one of the biggest surprises that happend in the competition. Commin in from outa Hamilton was KGod (Who was skating with a broken ankle) ,Russ,Simon,Mike,Mikes friend (who told me his name, but im shit wit names I know he was riden K2's though and seemed like a really kool kid),some kid who introdeced himself as "The Guy" ( he had a sick tatto though), Russ's cuzin who im also sure told me his name and I forgot, good photographer though, and some1 in a red shirt who I never caught the name of but he seemed to bust some kool tricks I think his name started with a "B".People who were reppin Hamilton made sure they did thier part to B,Brandon,Josh,Ryan and his 2 friends, Laura (B's gurl),Roger,Chris,Steve,Rob.(sorry if I forgot any1 its all a blur now).

We started off at Jackson where the pre session was started by KGod whippen out his dick and showing everyone...good times.From their we quickly moved to the School Board Rails where Russ and KGod where busten some sick shit just as expected. I can only describe their skating as amazing to watch I really have no other way of putting it. Most of the tricks KGod pulled he was either haven a but or on a cell phone, like the man said "I got people to call", so why not during his tricks. A surprise Run came out of Roger who pulled a triple switch of Porn, soul, royal, And my man Mike who was rippen shit with his souls to top sunny days.

We then moved to Delta, and by now everyone was a bit tired and "God damn hot". So we decided we would only session 2 ledges and leave out the run portion. A big run was had by Mike who was pullen 270 souls, and some other crazy shit that I wouldn't even of thaught of. This was deffinetly where he shined. Once again Russ and Kgod where goin at it for the pro prize, But with Kgod's ankle he had to take it easy, plus it was to damn hot out. Russ was doin his thing amazen the crowd. A big trick came from "The Guy" who heel rolled the ledge and then disaster souled it, it was the high light of delta.

  After this session we decided to kool off and let a couple of people try Kennelworth rail ( I think thats the name) before going to the ghetto rails. This was a massive rail which after a couple tries KGod did like 98% of it. Which was really fun to watch. He then fucked up his ankle on the thing....WAY TO GO. It looked painful.

    Our last spot was the Ghetto rails, where we thaught we were gunna get jumped. KGod was pullen crazy negative shit, cuz negatives didn't bother his ankle that much. But the session had to go to once again Russ and Mike. They were pullen crazy fuckin switch ups on these things just murdering these rails, for all to watch in amazement. I think Russ threw a 6 switch up combo 270 out, and Mike was thrown sick 5 trick combos.Chris won the best fall Competition from a spill he took on these rails, It looked like he cracked his back in half on the ghetto's.

  We wrapped up the comp by given out the prizes 100 bucks went to Russ for the pro division. 50 buck gift certificate from BNS, and a T-shirt from cypher went to Mike for the Am division.A T-shirt from cypher and discs with skating and other "stuff" went to Chris for best fall.Then BNS handed out some shit ( which is greatly appreciated by me and everyone in cypher) couple of T's and the FOR III DVD, Also they gave everyone that enterd 5% off their next purchase. I wanna thank everyone who showed up and helped this thing run, Simon from BNS for being the only one who helped us out ( he had to take the GO-Train to get here).


****Also I want to remind everyone about RSA which is being held by BNS on SEP 18th, It's gunna be an insane competition with HUGE prises.****

- Its sad to say but a fellow skater has past away. Rich taylor was a pioneer to our sport and weather you knew him or not it is always sad and shocking to hear that someone died in an activity we all take part in on a daily/weekly basis. This has shooken up the world's skate scene and maybe even brought us all closer together in a sense. Richard was featured in the Video Groove "Roots" and all funds raised from the video are now going to Richard's family which is a nice gesture. Rolling Anonymous is to have a memorial section of him in our video that we are currently working on...this is just the type of accident that reminds us all that life is fragile and makes us question why we skate, but we all will get over this and keep on skating.
