Hello and Welcome

Hi and welcome to the official Roffey Guides website.  Feel free to explore.  Sign the Guestbook and look at pictures of the guides in action!  Updates will be added as they arrive.

If there is anything else you want on this site, then do not hesitate to contact me.  Anything from suggestions for improvement, to submitting images and information, everything is welcome.

September 4th, 2006

Heya to all

Well, just another sub site set up (I'm getting there!), this time for the summer camp of 2006, which took place a couple of weeks ago.  A lot of laughs and fun in a new setting.  Brand new!  Angmering: further than we've ever gone before (on a general summer camp anyways).

Again, I will do my best to update as often as I can,  but I will be starting Collyers next week.  Will try and update a bit more this last week I have though.

Here's the sub-site address anyways.  Good luck to all at new schools/colleges and good luck to those going back to a whole new year!  Have fun!

Summer Camp 2006

June 26th, 2006

Yes, yes, I know, long time no see or updates, but I have been really busy this year with the last year at Millais and everything.  Anyways, the update is that I have now created the sub-site for the May Camp 2006, which finished yesterday.  This contains some of my piccies from the time I was there.  If anyone has anymore please, I beg you, send them to me at feltsim3@aol.com so that they can be included.  I want this site to be so much better than it is, which should happen if I update it more, which I am planning to do.  Over my very long and very boring stretch of summer, I am planning on searching for all the photos that I can find to upload, and I will be asking at Guides for any reviews of events and camps.  if you would like to submit a review, please send it to the address above along with a nickname (suitable) and your own name so that I can ccredit you for it (no names shall be used on this site, this is just so that I know who sent me one!).

Anyways, there should be another update within the next few days for the pictures and things regarding the Canoe Regatta at Southwater yesterday, but until then, below is the link to the new site for May Camp:

May Camp 2006

Enjoy and see you all soon.

August 5th

Well, I have finally got two of the sub-sites fully up and running:

Pantomime 2005

and

Baden-Powell Challenge Adventures

both of which you can view by clicking on the links above, or via the gallery.  I hope to have more pictures uploaded to the other sub-sites soon, but until then, enjoy the summer everyone, and see everyone in September!

Edit:  OK, so I worked a bit harder and got a third one done as well!

         Youth Hostelling 2004

June 25th

Hiya everyone again.  Well, things have changed a bit more again.  My original idea to have a gallery sub-site for each year has kinda fallen flat on its face, due to the lack of space again!  AAHH this makes me soooo mad!

Anyway, I am in the process of making seperate sub-sites for each different event that I have pictures for.  These will be accessable through the Gallery page once I have each event's sub-site completely finished.  In these sites I should also be able to include reviews, which is where you guys now come in big time.  I'd like you all to write a review of any of the following events that you have attended:

  • Youth Hostelling 2004
  • WS 2004
  • Lord Mayor's Show 2004
  • Baden-Powell Challenge Adventure January 2005
  • Panto 2005
  • May Camp 2005

I know that loads of people should fall into these catagories, so can I please get you reviews of these events, plus as usual any other bits and pieces you'd like to give me.

Congratualtions to those members of 1st Roffey Guides who have recently finished their Baden-Powell Award.  It took us all a while, but we got their in the end!      Keep it up the rest of you!

Until next time (hopefully not too far way!) see ya!

April 2nd 2005

Yeah, I know, long time no see.  And no updates either.  Again, ask anyone in Year 10 what it's like and you may understand.  Anyhow, with the updates:

I have experienced a problem with the amount I can upload to the site, so being the extremly clever person that I am (yeah, right) I have come up with a solution.  I have now set up a couple of 'sub-sites' from which it will be possible to access all of the images that are now new to the site.  So all the images from the pantomime are on there, as will be the Youth Hostelling pictures, the Lord Mayor's Show, Rememberence Sunday, and any other images that I happen to come across.  You can access the new sub-site here.

December 24th

Yeah, I know, there's been no updates for a long time, but I promise I do have some to come.  It's just a case of me finding enough time, and not losing the password to get into the editing again!  I will hopefully have some more pictures from WS 2004, October camp and the Lord Mayor's Show up soon, as well as some other pictures I have yet to find a group for.  Anyone in year 10 understands the workload from school.

Have a merry Christmas and a Happy New Year when they come.

August 7th

My Gosh I'm tired.  Well, that's it, WS 2004 is over.  I came home at about 12:30pm and have worked solidly on getting updates on here, as I'm afraid I have neglected this site over the past month.  Anyway, today, I have added a Gallery page.  On here, you can see pictures of all the guides in action.  Into this, I have added pictures of the preparations made by some of the Roffey Guides for WS 2004.  This includes trying out the game we used for the charity day in Cactus Creek during WS, painting horses, making the gateway, and of course, some wierd poses by some of the Guides.  I have also added the pictures from my digital camera from WS.  There aren't very many of these, because I was a bit stupid in learning how to work the camera, but as soon as I get my other photos developed and scanned in, I will add those too.

I have also added the Who? What? Where? When? page, which gives you a little bit of information on Roffey Guides, including when and where we meet.

This update will end with a big plea to all of you Roffey Guides, or Guides and Scouts from other places if you come across this site, please e-mail your pictures of WS to me.  I would love to make a bigger gallery, and it would be great if you could be prepared to share your pictures of this amazing international camp with those whose photos are scarce or of poor quality.  Thank You.

I added the Guestbook to the site.
