WMA samples automatically play in Windows Media Player (included with all
Windows computers) unless you have set your computer to load them in a different
program. These load in a minute or less on even the slowest connections.
However, due to the small file size, the sound quality is limited (similar
to AM radio).
AAC samples are still fairly small, but have much better audio fidelity (near-FM radio quality) due to AAC's advanced encoding methods. However, these require an AAC-enabled playback program; we suggest free Winamp version 5.0 or above. * Note: Some Windows Vista users have experienced crashes with the newest version (5.54); earlier 5.xx may avoid this problem. * Depending on your computer's settings, left-clicking will either bring up a play-or-save dialog box, or spawn your media player and begin playing the file. Right-clicking will bring up a menu including an option to save the file. |
