Robyn Griggs is one of the sweetest people that I have ever met. I had the wonderful opportunity to interview this great person and actress for a 2nd time and it's awesome! Check it out! |
| THE INTERVIEW |
Kristy Langford: I have been a fan of yours for some time now. What was it like working on the soaps, Another World and One Life to Live?
Robyn Griggs: The Soaps were great! Very wonderful learning experience and it really tones you for this business. I learned so much on and off camera when I was on the soaps!
KL: What is your opinion about Soapnet bringing Another World back on in reruns?
RG: I am thrilled they are airing Another World again. That show never should have never been canceled, they had some very talented actors on there. I never was able to really see my scenes, so I am hoping to tape them and see them all this time. My father taped them, but the tapes are old and I never watched all of them. My father has a huge library of all my performances from childhood on up, I should really try to transfer them to dvd.
KL: Would you ever consider working in soaps again?
RG: Definitely! Soaps are an actors dream....A weekly paycheck...hahahaha... seriously though, I enjoyed them and would love to do one again!
KL: How long have you been singing professionally?
RG: I started singing at the age of three, so a very long time.I think my favorite thing to do is sing
KL: Any new projects coming up that we can look forward to hearing from you?
RG: Well, I am getting ready to record a cd with Matthew Jason Walsh which will be connected to a film that I will play the lead in. he is a very talented person. I also, am going in the recording studio to do a CD of pop type music for release.
KL: What is Wayne Alan Harold really like?
RG: He is one of the most wonderful people I have ever met in my entire life. He is so kind and honest. Such a good influence in this crazy world. He has overcome a terrible disease and kept his charm throughout. He has been there for me as a friend and I adore him.
KL: I have been hearing alot about Dead Planet. What can you tell me about it?
RG: Dead Planet is currently looking for investors. This film has an unbelievable cast. really just would like to get the funds and shoot it, I think this film would make it to theatres! I love the character I play in it, It is a very different role for me, I kill people, eat their brains, help an ingenue, very different and I have black hair in it and a scar. kind of like underworld meets mad max. I am currently working on my 8 pack for it
KL: How long have you been attending horror conventions?
RG: this will be my second year for the cons. last year I went to some and I just love meeting the fans and fellow artists.
KL: What made you decide that you wanted to start one yourself?
RG: I just love being busy and I love having parties, so figured I would do an con and then I have both covered!
my main reason is because so many of the cons seperate the headliners from the indy people and i wanted to have something where everyone from authors to dealers to actors etc. were all equal!
KL: In your opinion, what do you think about the way women are portrayed in horror films today?
RG: hmmm. I think it varies. I dont mind women being portrayed as a victim and I dont mind being the killer. I prefer the killer though. anyways, I think as an actress, you learn to accept what you are given and for me i dont get into the whole point of view that women shouldn't always be the victim, in some of those situations, we would be the victims. I mean we all are equal and as long as we all act decent and not like divas, we will be fine. I know for a fact, if leatherface was chasing me, i would be killed and if pinhead was after me, i would ask if he would marry me...LOL I have a BIG crush on Pinhead!!!!!!!!!!!
KL: I really want to thank you for taking the time to do this interview with me. You are awesome!
RG: Kristy, you are a great person and I thank you for supporting all of us in this crazy independent business!
