Exposing Contemporary Deliverance Ministry Error and Deception

"As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction."  II Peter 3:16.

"Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."  Matthew 7:22-23

About Us

Robert Best is the Director of the VBDRS and a student of the Scriptures. Scripture is the absolute by which all else is measured. The thrust of his life is centered on the incomparable authority and purity of the Scriptures proclaiming the Lord Jesus Christ as our Heavenly Father’s provision for eternal salvation.

Robert holds a D.T.S. from Bethany Seminary. His doctoral thesis title is The Dichotomous Relationship Between Demons and Exiled Angels. He is presently a Ph.D. Candidate in Biblical Studies at Louisiana Baptist University. Robert’s dissertation (prospectus approved) is entitled Narcissism: A Pathological and Theological Examination of the Root of All Evil and Its Consequential Cosmic Destruction.

In 2008, Robert became concerned about an unholy emphasis being placed upon experience over and against that of Scripture in the areas of demonology and deliverance. He conceived the VBDRS for the purpose of encouraging the research, propagation, and defense of sound doctrine in the area of deliverance and related demonology topics.

The VBDRS wants to influence pastors, deliverance ministers and individual Christians with the central role and importance of a foundational doctrinal principle of the Protestant Reformation - Sola scriptura. Sola scriptura or “by Scripture alone” asserts that the Bible is self-authenticating, perspicuous to the rational reader, self-interpreting, and sufficient of itself to be the final authority of all Christian doctrine. When believers come to understand this principle, it leads to spiritual discernment and freedom. This is why we at the VBDRS are proclaiming the Words of our precious Lord “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32)
