Robbins Run Ranch: Our Pomeranian Gals

Beautiful Female Pomeranian
Ida's Mini Tatanka

Ida's Mini Tatanka's Story Page.

Min Min is Ida's Mini Tatanka's call name. Actually she has a number of call names. Mini, Min Min, Moofie, Mutie, and so on.

She is my Rotten Rotten Misbegotten Spoiled beyone Rotten Baby. She is the actual ranch owner, don't you know.

Min Min's Birthday is February 1st, 2003.

Mini was an extremely tiny baby out of a high number litter. I'd never seen a Pomeranian have so many puppies. It was like 2 litters in one. As a result of the high number of puppies Min Min did not develop fully in utero. She was an ounce at birth and only 2 ounces at 2 weeks, with a huge will to survive.

Ida, her Pomeranian Mama, was not pushing her away.  They will do that when something is seriously wrong with the puppy's body.  I respect their decisions when they make them along those lines. I don't believe it is fair to make them stay in a body that will never be healthy.

At any rate Ida was not pushing Mini away. Mini was actually attaching to the nipple but did not have enough suction to get enough milk. She had such a tremendous will to live that I stepped in and helped her. I started bottle feeding her. Burping her. Doing everything the mother Pomeranian would do at this stage, plus spinning the fluid out of her lungs. Min Min was a preemie, Yes the rest of the litter was fully developed and thriving.

Min Min spent the next few weeks of her life in a green wool sock, converted into a baby carrier for her attched to my chest. When she wasn't on my chest her in her little green wool jacket (made out of the same sock) was in a coffee cup being held upright so she wouldn't aspirate fluid.

Oh and no she does not like tight spaces now. No surprise there. My Vet at the time; Dr. Stephen Kerr from Bear Creek Veterinary Clinic, was a great help in Mini's survival. He is the person that showed me how to spin the fluid out of her lungs. Ben Bac and Baby gas drops helped her to be able to digest her food without extreme bloating. Min Min had pneumonia, when whe was a tiny baby,  for several weeks do to aspiration.

My baby girl still has reflux, but all in all has a happy life.

She has her own Queen Bed on the night stand by the head of our bed. She sleeps with us until she wants her own space then walks over to her bed and stretches out. No she does not jump on or off of our bed, or hers.

Min Min's coloring is a bit deceptive. The rich orange color she has is because of the chocolate shading. It is very subtle. When she was a puppy she had chocoate sleeves on her front legs. Her eye liner, nose, and lip liner are chocolate rather than black.

My beautiful baby girl.

Here come the Baby Pics... lol... don't you know it.

This Photo was taken Feb. 3rd 2003. She was smaller than her bottle. Such a huge spirit in such a tiny body.

Coco (Teddy Too Cute), Mini's dad/sire, was first generation in my kennel. He is a wonderful Chocolate fellow that doesn't know a stranger. To him they are simply friends he hasn't met yet.
