Mountain Creek, Vernon NJ

Mountain Creek in Vernon NJ is probably the best ski resort in NJ. It has a total of 46 trails, 4 mountains, and has a 1040 ft vertical drop. New Jersian skiers couldn't ask for a place better than Mountain Creek. If your just learning how to ski or have been skiing for a long time, from beginner to expert, Mountain Creek is for you. Many beginners will probably stay on trails like Upper & Lower Horizon on Vernon Peak. While experts head towards Granite Peak for Pipeline nad Devil's Bit. Now I will explain the 4 mountains.

Vernon Peak

Vernon is probably the most exciting Mtn. at MC. It offers a wide variety of trails. For BeginnersEasy: Upper Horizon, Lower Horizon, Cab Ride, Schoolyard, Sugar Slope, and Triple Bound are the trails. For IntermediatesEasy: Fox Run, Fox Tail, Half Moon, and Opposum are the trails. And for ExpertsEasy: Eagle Hunt, Lower Eagle, Zero G, Great Northern, Kyper Pass, Independence Pass, Indian Pass, Sayonara, and Sugar Jib are the trails. Vernon has 5 lifts: Schoolyard Carpet A, Schoolyard Carpet B, The Cabriolet Gondola, The Vernon Triple, and The Sugar Quad. So, check out Vernon Peak!!!

Granite Peak

Granite Peak is the most intense of the 4 mountains. Granite doesn't have many trails, but it has the hardest trails in the resort. If you are a beginner, then stay on Vernon, South, or Bear because Granite is not for you. If you are an expert skier then go to Granite for some awesome trails. For BeginnersEasy: Opsrey, Red Fox, and Southern Soujourn are the trials. For IntermediatesEasy: Doe Run, Granite View, Red Rock, and Silver Fox are the trails. For ExpertsEasy: Devil's Bit is the trail. For Extreme ExpertsEasy: Pipeline is the trail. Granite has 1 lift: Granite Quad. So, check out Granite Peak!!!

South & Bear Peak

South can hold the snow better than Vernon and is very different then Vernon. It feels like your skiing in a different resort when your on South and Bear Peak. Bear is smaller than South and the 2 are used to be known as 1 mountain. But they changed it them to 2 seperate mtns. South and Bear are great for biginners to experts. They don't have many Beginner trails, but the intermediate trails there can be handled by beginner skiers. For BeginnersEasy: Lion's Den is the trail. For IntermediatesEasy: Bear Claw, Canyon, Cloud 9, Flying Fox, Jumping Jack, Giant Steps, Gorge Run, Hawk Highlands, Lark, Red Tail, and Tail Spin are the trails. For ExpertsEasy: Big Bear, Bear Paw, Kamikazee, Exhibition, and Birds Eye. South/Bear have 5 lifts: Bear Carpet, Lion's Den Tow, Soujourn Double, South Beak Express, Bear Peak Express.
