Intro

Welcome to my 68' Firebird website!!! Some of you may already know me as "Raven Blayde" (Heavy Metal Musician) http://www.freewebs.com/ravenblayde/  but when I'm not making music, I'm working on my 68' Firebird 400. I bought this car back in the late 90's and she has been loads of fun over the years. My car is like my music (fast, powerful and hardcore). I'm always finding something to change or improve with them both and the two sorta walk hand in hand. This website is dedicated to my Firebird and the joy she has brought me since her arrival.

When I bought this car, it was basically a shell. No engine or transmission, no interior, wiring that had been chewed up by mice and not even a steering wheel! Even though these pictures of the car show it looking pretty rough, I had already done most of bodywork to it! Should have seen it the day I had it towed home!

I built a 72'  400 engine and 400 transmission that I took out of a junked Catalina. I bored the engine .030, used SpeedPro forged pistons, stock rods with Mildon rod bolts, Crower hydraulic cam, 68' 350 D-Port heads, Headman headers, Holley Street Dominator intake, Holley 800 DP carb with Proform main body kit and 2,500RPM stall converter. I added a 3:73 posi rearend, subframe connectors and 28' M/T  E.T. Street Radials. The car ran a best of 13.00 with this setup (before losing a rod bearing)

The loss of the engine was a bummer, but I rebuilt it again with a few added features. This time I zero decked the block (to raise the compression a bit and help avoid detonation), used forged H-beam rods, a Comp solid cam, roller tip rockers and added a Power Shot nitrous system.
