In the first age, the elves dominated the landscapes, their cities stood proud. The elves developed magic and promoted gods of goodness. Together, the Gods and the elves promoted the natural development of the land.
After time, the Gods decided to make other races. Some Gods even competed to see who could make the race that thrived the most. At first, this competition was healthy, and created many useful races in Fordane.
Eventually, some of the Gods turned on eachother. Some even fought eachother on the material plane, calling their new people to help them. The Gods and races that were left now inhabit the material plane. The first age came to an end.
The surviving races uncluded the swift and magically inclined elves, the strong and durable dwarves, the crafty and cunning gnomes, the jovial but introverted halflings, and the adaptable humans.
The races eventually learned to live in peace, even cooperating with eachother at times. The humans began to expand their kingdoms and influences. Some times they even expanded into kingdoms of other races, or even those of other humans. The kings and queens of men sometimes, competing for land an wealth in the same area, but never breaking out into full out war. In fact, this new age has yet to see a true war of any kind.
The kingdom of Padonis occupies the Western half of the continent of Thelona. It is a prestigeous kingdom that has gained much recognition for their peaceful dispotition, while still having a just court system. They are allied to the kingdom of Solerma, which occupies most of the eastern half of Thelona, and are allied to Cydonia, a kingdom on the continent of Velona to their north, just across the sea. The alliance to Solerma is long-standing, with even marriages between the two royal courts.
The king of Padonis, King Vincent Lespari, is the third king in the Lespari line. His father was a great and beloved king of Padonis and was the cousin to the royal ambassador of Solerma. King Lespari III is also a kind king, who's recent actions have solidified the power of the courts, a herald for those devastated by once theive-ridden countrysides. It is a peaceful time in the kingdom, even though news from the capitol states strange relations with their great ally to the east. But perhaps that is just temporary.
Reports traveling across the sea from Cydonia suggest to Padonian officials that the king of Gondor is again under a feud from his brother. Military officials ossure the citizens of Padonis that it is nothing to get worried over, and they are sure The king of Gondor can resolve the situation with great ease.
