Dear Richard,

Our property team has confirmed that the land in question is owned by KiwiRail and therefore they have asked for repairs to be made to the ramp.

Given the time of year and the nature of the work being weather dependant, I cannot put a definite timeframe on when these repairs will be carried out but hope it will be before the end of this month.

I trust that this will go some way to addressing your concerns – and thank you again for bringing them to our attention.

Kind regards,

Ruth Larsen

Hello Richard,

Thank you for your email. I have passed your concerns on to our local and property teams and will be in touch in due course.

I understand that at least one of your website complaints was received on 8 June. I am following up on where this query is at, as we do endeavour to respond more promptly, but in the meantime please accept my apologies for the delay in responding to you.

Kind regards,

Dear Kevin

Levin Railway Station North Pedestrian Ramp

Please would you kindly like to see my photos of the Levin Railway Station North Pedestrian Ramp, which urgently needs to be properly repaired with compacted hard fill and rolled-on bitumen hot mix.  http://www.fikz.webs.com/  This is a website dedicated exclusively to the issue above.

You can also see it with my other alerts, many of them rectified, on    http://roadsidework.webs.com/levinrailwaystation.htm

I hope that you can organise the immediate, permanent repair of this deteriorated footpath, at the quite busy station, because the photos indicate a significant hazard.  My leather wallet shows the height of the rough and dangerous step that's developed.

I've used your website's contact panel to make this maintenance request twice, but seemingly without an answer. However, the reply may have gone into my Junk Mail which, regretfully, I may have missed. I think it's fair that you make this a top priority job, for safety reasons, since Levin has an above average retired population.

The lady who runs the Krazy Cow patchwork and sewing supplies shop, Mrs Trish Tilury, phone (06)3685077 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting              (06)3685077      end_of_the_skype_highlighting, is concerned too. Her email address is krazycow@xtra.co.nz

She told me that Durough do the maintenance on the station because she understands that it is under a Treaty of Waitangi Land Bank holding. Nevertheless, it's where many commuters walk for the Capital Connection train, from Palmerston North to Wellington. For this reason, it seems to me, partly a KiwiRail responsibility to organise the repair of the tarseal ramp.

I look forward to your reply. Many thanks.

Yours sincerely
