Dear Madam / Sir

Two Trees Blocking Visibility from Tiro Tiro Road at Kawiu Road Stop Sign Intersection

The following website shows an unfavourable situation where two self sown road reserve trees block ideal visibility on Kawiu Road from the Tiro Tiro Road stop sign.

While the best solution is to remove the trees, I would be happy to merely trim back the roadside branches from the trees' main trunks with a saw on a long pole.

I spoke to a resident opposite the trees who wants them substantially left for privacy from the house above and for their undoubted beauty. A trim back, as described, seems reasonable to me in the meantime.

If you would allow me, I would cut the roadside branches on both trees at 5:15am this Sunday 21 December 2008, when there's minimal traffic.

However, the trimming can all be done well off the tarseal and I would remove all the cut branches away for the site. It would be at no cost or liability to the Horowhenua District Council.

Yours sincerely
