Growl was hosted by and held at the Dawg House of DD John Malta.
Growl opened with proper ceremony by Pound Keeper PDD Frank Alger, SR. at 1515.
Dog Robber called roll call of Pound Officers.
Officers present: Poundkeeper, PDD Frank Alger, SR; Sr Vice Poundkeeper, DD Tom Solnit; Police Dog, DD John Malta; Dog Robber, PDD Eddie MacIntyre.
Officers excused: Jr Vice Poundkeeper, DD Bill Ebright; Mad Dog, PDD Dan Herrera; Dog Trainer/Watch Dog, DD Frank (Gunny) Alger.
Officers Absent: Smart Dog, PDD Tom Schwarz, and Barking Dog, PUP Jerry Walker.
Dog robber read scratching of last growl and also gave financial and membership reports. All reports approved by Pound (Financial report subject to audit)
Poundkeeper, PDD Frank Alger, Sr, accepted MODD applications for membership of Marines James L. Trupe and Bernis Bidwell, both members of Saguaro Det. #554.
Sickness abd distress: Reports were given on PDD Buck Weaver, DD Fred Sherm, and DD Frank (Gunny) Alger.
Poundkeeper reproted on Pound 112's sponsoring of an outing taking a group of Sunshines Acres kids to see the Diamondbacks get whipped by the Texas Rangers. He showed us a nice group photo.
DD Tom Solnit reported progress made on his suggestion of having our Pound present a wreath at the Annual memorial Day Ceremony at the VA National Cemetary. DD Tom Solnit asked Dog Robber to look into obtaining a large MODD emblem suitable to use in our memorial wreath.
Poundkeeper announced that at the next Growl we will nominate, elect, and install 2010 Poound 112 officers and that Growl wil be heald on October 11, 2009 at the dog house of Frank Alger, Sr.
Growl closed with proper ceremony at 1540. We then adjourned to the Malts Doghouse and enjoyed salad, lasagna, and super cake and of course enjoyed each others company and tall tales.
