125 Gallon Extreme Make over

This is our latest build project. I have come across a used and neglected 125 gallon tank. This will be by no means a "Show Tank" however over the next 4-6 months you can watch this tank be transformed into something I hope to be proud of. So please check back often to see the progress.

04/23/09 I just started removing the old silicone from the inside of the tank. I may have an option to replace the badly scratched front glass so I'm also attempting to remove the upper an lower frame of the tank so that I can replace the 3/8" x 72" x 22" front glass.

04/26/2009 I have removed the overflows and still working on removing the top plastic trim around the tank. Wow that’s a lot of work to get through all the silicone. I managed to get the front edge lose but the ends and back still giving me a hard way to go.

04/27/2009 I managed to remove the top plastic trim on the tank. This took about 5-6 hours over the time of 4 evenings.

04/29/2009 Still working on removing the front glass of the tank, I have a fellow TRAC member getting a replacement panel and I will be getting it this weekend.

05/01/2009 Replaced the front glass and the top trim for the tank.

05/07/2009 Started the build for the back ground. This will be a combination of Portland cement and crushed coral. Into the back ground I will incorporate Frag shelfs and caves as well as the plumbing for a closed loop system.

07/08/2009/It's been a while since I've updated the progress here, Summer projects daughter's High School Graduation and customer's orders have kept me away for a bit. Last weekend I started the build of the stand and I will get some new photo's up a bit later.
