The [A27] Clan History

The A27 clan was first created by [A27]Winner approximately mid-May 2005 for the Halo: Combat Evolved Trial version. Being a very formidable player himself, Winner was eager to create an unbelievably large and powerful clan that would be one of the most domineering clans in the Halo Trial world. He began to recruit players daily based on their skill in the game as well their personality, factor that determines how well A27 members would get along with one another. Some examples of members being directly recruited by [A27]Winner are [A27]Commie, [A27]JSnipe, and [A27]Alak. Winner's ambition was strong at the time and thus he granted each current member the authority to "create lagless servers upon which when people join...pick the best 3 and... let them join [A27]." Although not all clan members at the time recruited, prominent members such as [A27]Commie and [A27]JSnipe frequently held tryout matches. As a result, the A27 clan grew rapidly and boasted an overwhelming forty members by July 2005.
Unfortunately, [A27]Winner mysteriously disappeared around mid-June and the A27 clan had no leader to look up to. One member changed his name to [A27]Leader in attempt to give A27 guidance, but the massive clan was exceedingly difficult to organize and control. He too mysteriously left by the end of June, resigning from both his position as leader and as a member of the clan. A27 had no one to lead them and its numbers began to grow constant at forty members since [A27]Commie left the clan and [A27]JSnipe stopped recruiting temporarily. He had plans in mind to keep A27 alive in the Halo Trial world. He had to come up with a way to keep clan members in touch and unified. Halo Trial was growing very popular and there were over seven hundred players in the Internet Server lobby per day, therefore it was hard for forty players to stay together. In addition, no one knew who left the clan or stayed since contact between members was minimal. Only Halo Trial held the clan together, and JSnipe needed to fix that.
On July 1, 2005, [A27]JSnipe registered for invisionfree.com's 12th server, creating the first official A27 clan website forum. It was difficult for him at first to roam through over fifty servers a day to try to find A27 members and inform them about the newly created website. By August 1, 2005, the A27 forum only had nine members participating. However, informed members such as [A27]a girl and [A27]Tidus helped spread the word at a faster pace. Sadly, by creating this website and keeping track of all the A27 members, JSnipe discovered that the clan's numbers have dropped significantly. Yet, the clan still had an above average number of players who were very skilled, therefore A27 was still considered to be a domineering force in the Halo Trial version.
Throughout the summer and early fall, several problems had arisen for the A27 clan. Many Halo Trial players began to grasp the power and reputation that A27 held, and therefore they began to wear A27 tags with their names or impose as an already existing A27 member. This created tension between A27 and other Halo Trial clans since the other clans could not tell the difference between real and fake members since they did not have access to the list of A27 members. Even the current list posted on the A27 website was not accurate since no site administrator edited the list frequently and there were still A27 members playing who were not informed of the website. However, the clan often had to focus on resolving problems other than tension between other players and clans. Conflicts within the clan (often related to respect) arose often. The argument that occurred three times between [A27]JSnipe and [A27] PLAYA was due to the fact that PLAYA's imposter attempted to tarnish the member's reputation and barely anyone knew the difference between the names. JSnipe only PLAYA's word, which he generously took in the end three times. [A27]Joker and [A27]Agent fought each other during August both on the website and on Halo Trial. Only until [A27]JSnipe, [A27]Ed, [A27]Killer, and [A27]Alak intervened did the conflict stop publicly, but both clan members harbored negative feelings towards each other for the next few months. Because of his initiative to take action to create an official A27 website, to unite A27 members in the absence of Winner and Leader, to resolve arguments between members, to create formidable alliances, and to make fair and unbiased decisions, [A27]JSnipe was openly approved as the third A27 leader.
[A27]JSnipe created order in the clan to keep it under control. He established an official ranking system that was later assimilated by future clans that came into contact with A27. He also established a strict recruitment rule so that the clan could keep track of which members are legally allowed into the clan. JSnipe was also responsible for securing the long-lasting alliance between the A27 and KON clan. Even after the KON clan slowly dissipated, he graciously allowed them to assimilate themselves into the A27 clan.
Like all normal people, JSnipe needed a vacation now and then. In fact, during late July to early August, he ventured off to the Caribbean with his family for two weeks and appointed [A27]Ed as the temporary leader since Ed was the most active on Halo Trial. It was unexpected, however, that Ed would be forced to endure two weeks of chaotic events which most clan leaders would have given up. During the first week, the clan members were uncertain whether or not Ed would be a good leader and some even complained in private conversations. His jovial personality made him appear incapable of maintaining a clan for two whole weeks. A few days after JSnipe left, a newcomer named Primus used fellow ally Bobshandel's account to create a mysterious unnamed account. He threatened to destroy the clan's website if the A27 clan did not tell him the address of Bobshandel's official website. While many members wanted to confess the address, Ed and his close A27 friends kept their minds void of any stress and confronted Primus head on in a diplomatic style. After two days of analyzing the Admin CP, they successfully vanquished Primus for a month. A day later, Ed accepted a clan war request from the NS clan, an action that would seem unfit for a temporary leader. Ed summoned the aid of [A27]Alak and [A27] PLAYA to wage battle with the three NS members and fought two rounds. Although PLAYA left early during the first round, A27 proved to be victorious in the end. At this time, members of the A27 clan began to have more faith in their new temporary leader. Then, there came diplomatic conflicts. [A27]Agent and [A27]Alak began to confront the X¥ clan about the unprofessional tactics its members use. However, with Ed keeping the heated debates under control, it became clear that the only X¥ members who were performing horribly to others on Halo Trial were the new recruits. After a compromise was made between [A27]Ed and (X¥)Killa, the A27 and X¥ clans became powerful allies. The final conflict that Ed faced was probably the most difficult one. [A27]Joker and [A27]Agent were locked in a heated battle because of an incident in a private server that Ed was not present in at the time. To make matters worse, the clan was divided in this conflict with half supporting Joker and the other half supporting Agent. Fortunately, Ed successfully held the clan together for the whole week for JSnipe to come back to fix the mess.
Now, [A27]Ed also did something no other clan attempted before in complete secrecy. After [A27]Agent came up with the rough outline of the plan in a private forum, Ed initiated Operation Free Agents. Agent and Alak would take up new aliases (Master and Leader, respectively) to disguise themselves as leaders of the F-A) clan. The objective of Operation Free Agents was to create an “ally” that would be completely supportive of A27 on Halo Trial since there were constant conflicts between A27 and X¥ members. A 100% supportive clan that was powerful would increase A27’s reputation on Halo Trial, as well. Both A27 members recruited members into F-A) then made a public request under their F-A) names to ally with A27. Ed, knowing F-A)Master and F-A)Leader’s true identities, accepted the alliance and so F-A) members befriended A27 members quickly.
[A27]JSnipe came back from the Caribbean with many problems on his hands. First of all, the Joker vs. Agent dispute was still an on-going debate. Creating the “Respect” topic, JSnipe sorted out the issues through both reason and force. Afterwards, Primus returned and JSnipe was the only A27 member at the time not to be informed of him. Primus once again turned the A27 Forum offline and began to threaten the clan through the website’s Shoutbox. Fortunately, JSnipe discovered Primus’ covert methods and denounced him as a fraud then banned his IP address. The next unexpected event to occur was [A27]Agent’s shocking submission to the stress of leading a double life for five weeks. He publicly revealed Operation Free Agents in a post on the A27 website, but due to Alak’s request, [A27]JSnipe used his administrative powers to delete that post before anyone could see it. However, Agent would not allow the A27 leader to force him into silence. Within two days, Agent reposted that same topic while many A27, X¥, and F-A) members were present on the website. The secret operation was revealed to everyone, and that marked the beginning of the Free Agents’ downfall.
Once the fall season officially began, A27 suffered many heavy losses in membership and its numbers fell between ten to fifteen active members. [A27]JSnipe was now contemplating of leaving the clan and placing [A27]Ed in command since he needed to concentrate more on his school work. This made several members upset, but [A27]Ed and [A27]Alak finally managed to convince their leader to stay.
More to come on the history of the A27 clan...
