The River Mohawk Band was formed back in 1978 with six members in the band. Our first paying gig was a wedding that was in a basement of an old school. It was at that point when we had to have a name for the band. We were all raised by the river in Snye,it didn't take long for the name THE RIVER MOHAWK BAND to be chosen.

The band started playing small house parties then weddings,fireman field days and a number of benefits in and around Akwesasne. A number of years later some members in the band had to boom out for work in New York City. We have had many different band members through the years.

For the past ten years we have been a three piece band,playing country,country rock,50's & 60's rock-n-roll and some old country classics.

The River Mohawks have played many places from Montreal Quebec,Ottawa Ontario,Upper New York State to Oklahoma where the band was entertainment for the grand-opening of a bingo palace on the Choctaw Indian reservation.
