How It All Started:
Early Days - Present
It all started one day while Ryan and Chuck were fooling around on thier guitars. they decided to make a band and put it on purevolume.com. The band was called RWCA and it was just Ryan and Chuck on guitars. After a couple of weeks the boys decided they wanted a real band and began to find other players. There were two guitars so they needed a bass, drums and vocals. They found Nick Smith for bass and after Chuck had got a drum set the found Jerry Razzano on drums, however this did not last because Chuck decided he wanted to play drums. So now it was Ryan on guitar, Nick on bass and Chuck on drums. They were known as Critical Turn. They found Drew Campbell who became the lead vocals of the band. Time went on and the boys jammed together and eventually changed thier name to The Right Profile. The boys played a Chucks 4th of July party and that was the first show. After that the boys still continued to jam. When the school year started they decided they need more guitar and perhaps more vocals. There was this kid at school who Ryan somewhat knew and all Chuck knew was he liked 311 because of a t-shirt. So they decided to ask if he played guitar and wanted to join a band. This kid was Chris Keville and as soon as he heard the word he was in the band. After a while still jamming the boys wanted a new name, they went for Inner Light Spectrum. And after a week they said nah, back to TRP. A short time after they found Jason Campbell (no relation to Drew) and got the rhymin' fool on vocals. Now it was time to get serious. After long and hard thinking of a good name Ryan thought, "Wait, what do we stand for? What do we want people to know when we play? We don't like people who hate, we like to get along with everybody, well almost everybody, so why dont we call ourselves UNITY?". And it was done, ever since then UNITY has been the name and rockin' out to great music is the game. Just as soon as they thought all was good, the boys came across bad news. Nick would be moving to Texas soon and would not be able to play with them anymore. So the boys made the most of it. After being denied of the GV Battle of the Bands, the boys said F it we are gonna throw our own show and kick ass. So they did. The first show of Unity was in Febuary of 2006. With Big Brother and The Redundos starting the night off, after some minor complications between the band that resulted in unecessary anger between the bands that was resolved, the show was a success and a great parting show for Nick. Now they needed a new bassist. After much searching they found Drew Kravitz, the big man on bass. Kravitz picked up everything the boys had worked for in a matter of hours, litterally, it took him about one practice to learn most of the songs they knew. From there Unity played at Steve Minor's 16 B-day and Sam Zirolli's 16th as well. Both were great sets. Then the boys heard Nick was coming back up for a couple of weeks and decided to play a show. And they did. Nick came back up from big ol' Texas and they rocked out. Since then Unity has been writing songs of their own and hope to soon have a record out. Unity has been putting in some long hours getting this accomplished. So sit back relax and check out our tunes which should be up soon. Also if anyone reading this wants us to play a show, just contact us on here or our AIM. Thanks alot and keep it on the positive.
