Now summer appears to have arrived please remember when gardening or relaxing in the sun not to leave doors and windows open thus allowing criminals easy access to your homes. This is particularly so when going into the back garden to get a drink or some form of equipment as it only takes a moment for someone to walk in. It happens every year on a very small number of occasions so let’s make sure it does not happen to anyone in Medway but particularly from within any of our Neighbourhood Watches. Fire Risks We have had an approach from the Kent Fire and Rescue Service requesting that we ask NHW scheme members to keep their eyes open for anyone causing problems by setting fire to crops and woodland. This is particularly relevant as we approach harvesting time, school holidays and long dry summer days. If you believe you see a crime in progress please dial 999 Clean Kent Campaign The Clean Kent Campaign recognises that Kent is a clean and beautiful county in which to live, work and enjoy. One of the ways in which the campaign aims to protect and preserve the natural beauty of the county is by reducing instances of fly tipping and littering, thereby, improving the overall quality of the Kent environment.
