News from Rhys

15 December 2009.
This just in!
Harvey, who will have a romantic rendez-vous with our Cherish, has JUST WON Best of Breed at the prestigious Eukanuba Invitational Dog Show.

8 August 2009.
We skipped the Sweepstakes and slept in. The breed judge was Nancy Cunliffe, a breeder/judge. The competition was the same as the previous day and Betty was, again, awarded a yellow ribbon for third place. The weather was a little damper than desired.

The Western Reserve show is the largest independent Specialty in the United States. There were 119 dogs entered in this show. The show grounds are at Oberlin, Ohio, in a park owned by the Western Reserve Kennel Club. Members of the Club have donated/planted trees dotted around the grounds in a pattern useful for keeping dogs and people comfortable in the August weather. It is a tented show and beautiful to see and participate in.

7 August 2009.
Betty went to the Western Reserve Cardigan Specialty and enjoyed herself. She did so love having Jonathon Greig lavish attention on her and she behaved nicely and showed the judges how beautifully she moves, while Jonathon escorted her around the large rings. The weather was hot with a mild breeze and sun on Friday. Kim Nielsen from Denmark judged the Sweepstakes puppies and awarded Betty THIRD place in her class.

There was a total of 41 dogs entered in Puppy Sweepstakes both days.

Eileen Eby from the United Kingdom was the breed judge. Betty nailed down a THIRD place ribbon in a class of nine. The competition was excellent and, win-or-lose, it is a joy to compete at that level. Betty clearly belonged there.

We hope you enjoyed your visit with us and seen how a Cardigan can enrich your life, as well as enjoyed visiting with Beverly.
We look forward to providing quality pups (and eventual champions!) to the Cardigan world. Please also check back often as we update and grow in our web site.

Puppy Property Laws

If I like it, it's mine.
If it's in my mouth, it's mine.
If I can take it from you, it's mine.
If I had it a little while ago, it's mine.
If it's mine, it must never appear to be yours in any way.
If toys are out, all of them are mine.
If it looks like mine, it's mine.
If I think it's mine, it's mine.
