Spanish Club and Honor Society
Ridgeland High School has had a Spanish Club and Spanish Honor Society for many years. The club is a place where those who enjoy Spanish and its culture can get together and celebrate the diversity of the many different cultures that can be found in Latin America.
Students that had and have an A average in Spanish I-IV can become a member in the Spanish Honor Society. The reasons for being in the Spanish Honor Society are many, but to name a few: students will be eligible to compete for a scholarship that the SSH Society funds, Juniors will be eligible to compete for a Junior travel award, and students will able to list this as one of their accomplishments on their College scholarships and applications.
There is a formal initiation ceremony and then the students will officially be on the rolls.
We have many activities that we participate in during the school year to include: the Breast Cancer Walk, Relay for Life, help with the RHS Forensics, and many other worthy causes and activities.
Students generally meet in rm. 124 before or after school. During the meetings we try to eat different foods from the "spotlight" country of the week.
The cost to join the club is $20.00 which covers the cost of the t-shirt, certificate, and any additional costs that might incur during the school year.
