a romantic novel by Rhonda Noble

In this easy to read and well written little novel, Rhonda takes you on a winding and twisted tale of good love that meets with disaster.  Her characters are believable, and more real than with the usual romance novel.  In fact, her characters are not teenagers or even young adults.  With children gone, life changes for parents. Rhonda deals with this issue well, as her characters are older which this no longer young reader finds quite refreshing.  I must confess that I do not usually read romances, but Mrs. Noble got my attention from the first page.  This is not a piece of fluff, but a rather serious piece of work, that begs for a sequel.

The phrase “The heart never lies; it knows when it has truly been loved” was passed to Catherine by her mother, and rings true throughout the tale.  Her memories of a happy childhood and loving family are entrenched deep in her soul, and carry her through rough waters.  Temptation and dissatisfaction with life in general make Catherine reach out to a stranger on the internet, and the tale begins in earnest.  Will she stray from her loving husband?  It’s in the book, if you want to know how she handles her longings.

The story line will tug at your heart, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quick romance novel to read.

“Catherine, I don’t have these answers,” he said. “I do know I lie awake at night thinking of this meeting with mixed emotions.  I must admit most of the time, I can’t wait for the day and yet at other times fear for all of the wrong things that might happen chokes me in my dreams.”
“I know Alex – I truly know how you feel and I don’t want to cause hurt for them, not any of us; but too, I know I must meet the other part of me – that is what you’ve become, a part of me.”
After a brief silence as Alex rationalized his thoughts he replied, “Then so we shall, we will meet and live with the consequences and promise each other only one thing – to have no regrets.”

This book is a lot more than a little novel; it is a slice of life. Any person that has been married for the time it takes to raise a family knows that with the years life can change and so can people. The once attentive spouse may seem distant, even cold.  You may find out that the life you have been living isn’t really what you want. Where does that love go and what do you do about it?

In this book Catherine finds an outlet for her feelings on the internet. She meets a man, Alex that she is able to talk with about her dreams, her pain and her unhappiness. What happens next is a journey that she takes to find a perfect love and the warmth that she had never known.

The journey is to be taken with no regrets.

This book will make you the reader want Catherine to find that part of herself she is missing. It is a great read and caries all the emotions of a classical love story. It is appropriate for any age.

On a Rainy Day by Rhonda Noble

Reading Rhonda Noble's On a Rainy Day is like finding yourself eavesdropping on some very close friends of yours, as you feel their joys, their pains, and ultimately their hearts. A beautifully constructed, suspenseful, and romantic story that tugs hard on your emotions and forces you to form a bond with the central characters. They are so well drawn and even in this little book, they come to life immediately. It is most certainly unlike any love story or even any story at all that you could come across. Noble smartly avoids cliches and her vivid use of imagery and description of characters is superb! You may never see or think of rain the same way again. I sure won't!
Buy this little gem, but be sure you keep a box of tissues or handkerchief nearby, because by golly, you are sure going to need them! I cannot wait to see what this talented author comes out with next. Kudos for a beautiful book!  -A Five Star Review!-

It is a 5 Star * * * * * Book!

I surely did enjoy myself when reading this book.
It's the kind of book you turn off the phone and read
it from cover to cover. Then when you’re done with the
book you know you had a relaxing time and a great
read. The story flowed easily and the characters were
believable and endearing. To me it was about
connections we make with one another. It also made me
want to believe in a true love story.

The author Rhonda Noble is a good communicator
and storyteller in the sense that I understood
everything she explained and felt all that was
happening. I can see this author writing many books
that people enjoy reading. I would recommend this
romantic novel to any one who likes good quick reads
and an enjoyable book.

"On a Rainy Day"
by Rhonda Noble

ISBN 1-4241-8450-9

No one knows what life will throw at him or her. And, Rhonda Noble
showed that well in her novel, "On a Rainy Day."
A story of the humdrum of married life evolving to an online affair is
becoming more common these days, but the way Noble handles the story is
not. She carries it through with compassion and reality, showing not all
is black and white. There are those shades of gray.
While society usually dictates two married people, such as the couple in
Noble's novel, be forbidden, even in today's culture. Noble has created
characters with whom a reader can sympathize. We find ourselves pulling
for the couple and for their reunion. This book is a must-read for those
of us who still seek romance, especially the gentle kind.
