been a while since a update, everything is moving fine, just no new news. been working on my comic, got 3 pages done, also been working out plans for the next show, i'll let you know when we get our shit together. movie trailers lately have been lacking. seems like no new worthwhile flicks are comin out, jersey girl by kevin smith, the ladykillers by coen bros., and that new jim carrey movie spotless sunshine of the eternal mind, i think thats it, are all movies you should check out.
trailers: Kill Bill vol. 2 (japanese trailer)
Coffee and Cigarettes
Shaun of the Dead (2nd trailer)

3/14/04
the show went well last night, all the bands played great and we sold a handfull of zines. numbers wise we made more money then last time but we ourselves got less money. right now we're trying to figure the line up for next show. hopefully we will find out soon, projected release date for new zine is april 17th.

3/9/04
Went to staples, and now we're in 3rd printing of issues #1 and #2, and 2nd printing of issue #3. of course this show is this weekend at 6. you all should attend. my birthday is tommorow also. so hooray for me. good trailers are hard to come by these days. all good movies are in pre production. here's this weeks:
Carandiru
The United States of Leland
2nd internet only trailer of Alien vs. Predator

3/2/04
handed out a ton of flyers at the vpopdm show, this weekend going to go throughout some diners for flyer handing out time.

trailer of the week:
Bon Voyage
I Heart Huckabees
Martin and Orloff

2/22/04
we had a set up at a JCC show tonite, was invited by bedford exit, so thanks to them. we sold out of EVERYTHING. we have no copies left, of issues 1,2, and 3. we're gonna go out later this week to go into 2nd and 3rd printings. so it was a good time. also we got a fair amount of people to sign up for a mailing list. so it would probably be a good idea to actually make a mailing list. yeah ill get to it later. ill try to work on the 'about'page tonight.
end transmission.

2/18/04
updated the order and contact page so you can order #3 off of paypal. i'm going to be putzing around a bit some more since the zine/mini comics page is basically pointless im taking it off and making an about page i guess. i still need more pics though. gwa. actually i really havent figured much out but i felt the need to update so i can get it out of the way. i dont know what the hell im doing right now. oh well.
oh yeah and super uber big news coming soon.

2/17/04
check out pics from the show.
trailers of the week:
The Ladykillers
City of God

2/15/04
the show went great, good turn out, bands played good, sold a bunch of zines, ended up feanora couldnt play at the last minute but broken toaster played for them instead.

2/15/04
show today at 6. you all know about it by now. issue #3 is technically out now. but ill worry about promoting it and adding it to the sight and paypal etc. monday sometime. have a big day ahead of us. don't be a square and go to the show.
in other news i found this an appropriate number to celebrate

2/14/04

2/10/03
just about everything in and finished. did the cover last night also.

trailers of the week:
Godzilla
Crimson Gold
The Return
Shaun of the Dead

2/7/04
if anyone was listening to 91.7 FM the Ville in Lancaster around 8-10pm last night we had a plug.

2/6/04
configured my scanner and scanned a bunch of sketchbook stuff in. so check out the gallery. redoing the site is going quicker then i thought, still have to get some more pics up and add some more stuff, but all is going well. i'll make sure to hit the drawing board today and start formatting the new zine.

2/5/04
so i'm redoing the entire site. its going to take some time so i'm going to do a little here and a little there, and slowly have it change. as you can see i put some pics instead of type for most of the site in the frame. i just need to fish out some more pics first. aside from the look of the site i plan on adding way more to the gallery and creating a new about/staff section. keep visiting to see whats new. oh we also hit the 500 mark today. whipee.

2/3/04
ok so once again got another uploader thanks to alan. hopefully this one will last longer. i am redoing the whole gallery so pay no mind to it as of now since its just filled with addresses i have to turn to html.
trailers of the week:
Kill Bill volume II
Jersey Girl
Dust to Glory

also started up a trailer section, with all the trailers linked so far.
1/29/04
alright, as of right now the image uploader has been forbidden. 2nd time this has happened. i downloaded a program type uploader so ill tinker with that and hopefully get some new images up. but for now deal with the little red x's.

1/29/04
keep forgeting to mention, i put up a guestbook section on there a few weeks ago, seems guy named john from x717x already found out about it. Guestbook i plan on some drawing this weekend, hopefully finishing it up, simon said he finished his one pager, already got an ample amount of articles in so i just need to do some formating and finish my shit up. i decided to push the release to about a week before, or week of the show. thats it for now.
trailers of the week:
Battle of Algiers
The Reckoning
I'm Not Scared
Valentin

1/26/04

nothing to new or exciting. show is creeping up slowly. me+simon+bernie handed out flyers at 'the mill' where twelve o one played, so if your visiting this site from one of those flyers. hello. welcome.

1/20/04

zine probably wont be out this weekend, with finals this week and work on the weekend. also need to get in a few more pieces from people. so who knows. there's the new and hopefully final flyer for the dreaded show.
trailer of the week:
Anchorman: Legend of Ron Burgundy

1/18/04

last night over cocoa we decided we are going to also put on skits and possibly a short play inbetween sets, something along the lines of kids in the hall or upright citizens brigade 2 minutes crazyness. also there will be a part of the show that is just techno music blarring and robot dancing. so dont be lame and show up.

1/16/04
new ish will most likely be released next weekend.
the show is feb 15th. hopefully for good. Feb 21st we had some competition with the annual snow orgy concert at mulberry art studio, so sunday feb 15th. be there or be square. so far we have silvio, feanoria, abulia, twleve o one, and im pretty sure bedford exit and forever fails. but as i look at it now those were all the originally planned bands, and aside from silvio and feanoria they all bailed on us. so looking for new bands is the key. me simon and a assortment will be at JCC tommorow handing out flyers. come say hi.

1/12/03
the zine is coming along nicely as of now. we might go to print this weekend like originally planned. in bad news Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Vol. 2 was pushed back from febuary to April...which sucks. in good news, the show is now scheduled for Febuary 21. we decided that to many girlfriends would intervene with the 14th and the FCC is closed the 13th. so Saturday Febuary 21. we have silvio, feanoria, and twelve o one on the confirmed bill so far. with members of abulia, bedford exit, and vacant lot willing to do so, but we'll have to wait til they go it over with the members of there band first. so Febuary 21 will be the R(wacp) show, if it is a release show for a issue has yet to be determined.
Trailer of the Day:
Oh What A Lovely Tea Party
(it may take a bit to load)

1/11/04
R(wacp) RELEASE SHOW ON JANUARY 17TH IS OFFICIALLY CANCELLED
after many mess ups and band cancellations, we decided to have the show at a later date. it will most likely be on the weekend of Febuary 13-15 sometime. keep checking.
in other news, gotten more articles lately and i'm about halfway through the comic.

1/8/04
oi. bedford exit cancelled, since they thought the show was in feburaury, and august burns red cant make it either, but we did get abulia on the bill, here's the run down.

*saturday january 17th 6:00 pm

*FREE ZINE FOR EVERYONE!
*at the lancaster jewish community center (2021 Oregon Pike, Lancaster, PA, 17601)
*hosted by pat and simon, the classy gentlemen we are. also will have most if not all the R(wacp) staff there.
*will be selling zines and mustache rides in the back.
*BANDS
- abulia (freakin' sweet indie rock)
- feanoria (spaced-out indie rock; in the vein of godspeed you black emperor!)
- silvio (mellow acoustic music)
- forever fails (melodic hardcore to knock your socks off)
please come - $5 at the door

1/7/04
alright. R(wacp) #3 release show is the 17th at 6:30 at Lancaster Jewish Community Center. ill most likely have a more official update tommorow once we book everything/one up for good, but the basic unconfirmed run down for now is august burns red, bedford exit, forever fails, feanoria, and silvio. free issue for the first bunch of people who show up. its $5. and me and simon will be MCing the place with crazy robot dancing shananigans. go to Mapquest to get good directions, the addy for the venue is 2120 Oregon Pike, Lancaster, PA. thats it for now.

1/6/04
nothing to new, hopefully #3 will be released next week and the news on the show should be coming. but for now
trailer of the week:
Alien vs. Predator

12/31/03
got some of the pics back up but the gallery will be stagnant for a while.
trailer of the week:
Club Dread

12/29/03
bad bad news, as you can see mostly all the pics on the site are down, the uploader i used is dead now and so are all the pictures it uploaded. and to top it off i deleted most of the pictures from my computer after i loaded them to save space...yeah...this blows...

anyways simon and bernie handed out flyers at the CI xmas show the other night. so thats cool. im procrastinating horribly. the dream of getting a lot done on xmas break was totally killed by mass DVD buying and Zelda:the windwaker.

12/24-25

12/24/03
started to sell R(wacp) #2 at CI. #3 is going to be released Jan 16th. we are having a release party show with various lancaster bands like bedford exit and j med. it will be at american legion hall, ill keep you posted. merry giftmas! and have a happy new year. dont know when ill be updating again, i am gettin busy with the movie project, show, and comic. have a good one!

12/18/03
nothing to terribly exciting today. made this though

yeah thats about it for now, the show workings are almost done, no doubt ill promote it off my ass then.

12/17/03
alright paypal is good and nice again. i got it working fine now.
other news is that i'm pretty sure we're out of R(wacp) #1...i might have some extra copies laying around but if not we are sold out. im gonna get some printed up then for the show we're putting on though. along with the free sampler zine. so if your bored go buy R(wacp)#2, because i didn't sell out of that yet.

12/16/03
paypal is figured out...kinda... the bank never got there deposits they sent me, so out of frustration i just started guessing, so they thought i was a robber or what have you and closed it down, now i have to go through another cycle where i have to prove im me, who knows how long that will take...ingrates...now for the trailer of the week
Lost Skeleton of Cadavra

12/15/03
the paypal is messed up. they said they sent me 2 deposits so i can verify my account, but the thing is they never sent me the 2 deposits. i called the bank checked on my statement, talked to the bank people, and the 2 deposits are non existent. argh. anyways ill work it out.
heres a sneak peek to the new issue so far. i only penciled a page and partially inked one, heres the partially inked one since pencils dont pick up well

12/14/03
200 hits! woo!
in other news saddam hussein was caught, he looked like a drunken homeless man, and they found him in a 'spider hole' which just makes him more hobo-like.
also me along with a few other R(wacp) staff are being apart of an independent film, progress is slow in a good kind of way. i have yet to decide to really make it a big part of R(wacp), if i bring my digital camera to the set or something i'll probably end up posting some pics.
one other thing is that i've gotten a fair amount of orders withing 2 days. i've been doing a bit of promotion, but it's hard to find good sites to promote at, if you know of a good msg board or promotion area or even a place for reviews email me at jonlektonisalive@hotmail.com thanks!
thats it for now, have a good one.

12/13/03

revolution (with a catchy phrase) #2 is out now!
it features:
-10 page comic
-articles on shoes, video games, and home schooling

12/10/03
hop on over to the gallery i put some new images up. i plan on scanning some more stuff in over time so its more of illustrations rather then national geographic photoshopped stuff.

12/9/03
no word on the whole staples fiasco, i assure you by saturday though.

on another note i decided to add something new to the site which is a
TRAILER OF THE WEEK:
HELLBOY

12/6/03
those of you around the east coast especially in PA assumingly know about the snow storm. so far this has been a pain in the ass since the roads are a sheet of ice after sundown, so not to sure when #2 is officially released. bare with me hear.

been reading a ton of comics and ive gotten into a stanely kubrick phase thats given me some new ideas for my comic.

we got a good review from almost normal! although the review on that page are more overviews then reviews, he seemed to dig it. im especially glad he liked the lettering because at one point i lettered with computer but opted for the easier hand lettering, which i kind of put my own spin on it, not always having word bubbles and what have you.

12/5/03
hooray for snow days.
anyways im pretty sure i got paypal all working up on here. it says i cant confirm my account til 2-3 business days after i say how much they deposited into it, but that didnt stop me from being able to make a add to cart feature to buy the zine, so i dont know what the hell the deal is? time will tell. check it out:
Revolution (with a catchy phrase) #1

12/4/03
so i know you're expecting me to say 'revolution #2 released! hooray!' but i can't since me and simon went to staples tonight to get the new ish released and whatd'ya know, staples hired the borderline retarded. to make a long story short, they have idiots behind the counter now (unlike before) and the guy had no idea what he was doing after numerous mistakes he was expectingly done and we paid and went on our way. 3/4's the way home i look in the box of coalated papers and notice one of the pages doesnt have a back, which mean 2 pages in the zine are missing. so tommorow we are gonna get our moneys back, until then:

12/2/03
revolution #2 is coming out thursday. heres a sneak peek:
simon got promoted to the position of pagoda. hooray for simon and his promoting and talent scouting skills.
also added the 'archive' section

11/13/03 (update)
made a new cover for revolution #2, the first one i liked at the time but eh, screw the whole keyboard theme i had goin there.

11/13/03
heres the pseudo cool news i talked about earlier:
now you can buy online at valiant death records!

11/9/03
2 month anniversary. almost out of copies of revolution #1, #2 is goin slow on my side, i got about 3 pages done in 2 days but havent worked on it in like a week, ill get to it soon, but ive been getting an amount of good articles so thats good. will update soon with pseudo cool news.

10/28/03
dropped 5 issues off at the comic store. selling there now. 28 McGovern Ave.
Lancaster, PA, 17602

also will be selling on a distro/record label site soon.

10/21/03
congratulations to kate duffy for being my first unsolicited sale (in that it wasn't someone i knew, or traded with first) go check out her zine at www.thermidor.net

10/16/03
dropped 6 issues off at CI today on consignment. hopefully they will sell.

10/15/03
made $3 in zine sales at school. hopefully some more tommorow. its way hard to try to sell people it, because A) i have to explain to them what a zine is B)i have to explain to them how i made it (because they always have to ask that) C) they never carry money on them D) people just don't like reading anymore. sad really. well only for me i guess. i mean why say no thanks for something thats only a dollar and you know the person who made it?

anyways, gotta stop at CI and drop some off there, also the comic store, and its been forever since ive been there to pick up comics. so thats 2 places i know that will sell them. if they will sell? thats another story. Been lookin at distro's to sell um at but i dunno. i dont think any of them will sell them. the mini comics world and the zine world seem like 2 entirely different things. even though theyre really damn close. and since mine is a mixture of both i dont know if the zinesters will count it as a real zine. and their are no mini comic distros that i can find. found a couple bookstores from around the nation that take zines in. im gonna wait a bit to do that though, since i wanna see if i can hit a snag and find a easy way to sell to people, b/c no one is responding to my various msg board and LJ posts i left scattered across the web.

i also wanna go to the city sometime to zap, pop, and ayp (first 2 crazy vintage stores, and 'angry young and poor', run of the mill punk record store, they have a book shelf, but i just see flyers there, im assuming there are no zines since i might be the only zinester in lancaster, so that might be worth a shot). im also thinking about trying to sell some copies at the from autumn to ashes/cave in concert friday. but A) i dont think i have enough $$ to go and B)they might be sold out before i get tix.

on other news, i already started #2, and finished a page tonight.i wrote the whole 10 page 'plot' out, which the plot is basically insanity in a solid form. its to hard to explain really. its about ninjas, and clowns, and monsters, and ice cream trucks, and the return of the old man, and levarr burton. just weird stuff. but i'm goin all out.

thats it for now.

10/14/03
my new book, revolution (with a catchy phrase) is finally released! please order a copy! it's only $1!

minicomic/zine featuring a 10 page comic called 'zombie sellecks' which is about 2 hapless slackers releasing a horde of the undead mistakenly while trying to steal tom sellecks soul.they get help fighting the zombie invasion by a mysterious old man and jesus! very bloody and very gory zombie fun. also feature 2 political articles by simon kugel, and a column about movies by alan ferich.

only $1 to pat aulisio or revolution (with a catchy phrase) 132 chelsea loop lancaster pa 17602

or email me for trades at jonlektonisalive@hotmail.com !
hope to hear from you!

10/13/03
FINISHED FINISHED FINISHED! off to the presses tommorow.here's the back cover
.
anywhoo, while i'm here, i highly suggest to go see Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill, magnificent piece of film.

10/5/03
book is goin smoothly for the most part. alan is behind on article, and im behind on the interview. 'zombie sellecks' now has a cameo from nick nolte, as well as tom selleck and jesus. only 2 more pages to go. the anticipation is thick.

9/30/03
put up the article section of the site. still needs some more tweaking. it'll do for now. as for the book, its goin along well, simon is doing a re write of his first column, alan sent in a short story, i'll be interviewing a band later this week, and have about 4 3/4 pages to finish drawing. today i drew another fight page including everything but backgrounds, so theres the 3/4 of a page.also have a handfull of 50's geo pics i need to scan in and possibly a few pages from 'zombie sellecks'

in other news my day job as a waiter is utter hell but's giving me a good amount of scratch to publish this book.

9/18/03
got some more 1950s national geographic pics up

9/14/03
finished the cover of the first issue. also talked to clerk at CI last night and will most likely sell issues there.

9/11/03
just putting up some more promo pics up, i found this pics in 1950's national geographic, crazy stuff back then, i scanned em in and alan photoshopped them up all nice like. enjoy.

9/9/03
started work on site now that i have enough knowledge/help of HTML at my hands. i plan on having the site be a good mini comics/zine site in the future, but right now i just don't have enough products and information to give out to make one, but i am taking it slow learning the process of making a site
